In this blog post, I will introduce a sample self-introduction letter written with a focus on my strengths and abilities under the theme, “Why am I the best candidate for an MD position?”
“We’re really on the same wavelength!”
This is what I hear most often when I meet people and talk to them. “Why did I meet you now?” or “We’re really on the same wavelength!” The reason I hear such comments is because I am curious. I find it fascinating that each person has different thoughts and personalities, which are not only reflected in their character but also in their clothing, makeup, appetite, view of the opposite sex, and lifestyle, and that these factors even influence their health. That is why I am always curious when I meet new people and listen to their stories. I think that’s why people like me. And there are no limits to my curiosity. I’m curious about not only people my age, but also people I know, people I don’t know, older people, younger people, and various friends I’ve met abroad. I listen carefully to what they have to say, marvel at the fact that there is another world out there, and quickly accept their culture.
One more thing: because I am very curious, I was very busy experiencing different cultures while I was in college. Korean culture in particular does not have a relatively wide spectrum, so I was exposed to many different cultures, which allows me to easily engage in any conversation, on any topic, with people of any disposition, and bring up the topics they want to talk about. As a result, I am not only good at listening to people, but also at responding with tact. This trait applies not only to conversation but also to my discernment of objects. I believe that my discernment, which I developed while traveling between France, the UK, and Japan, is truly reliable. In order to gain a better education and learn more, I transferred twice and majored in a total of six subjects, so I feel that I have a wide range of knowledge and understanding. If you give me a chance, I will prove it to you. I have the ability to communicate well with people, understand what they want, and recommend good and necessary products to them, as well as extensive knowledge in related fields. That is why I applied to your company. I would like to prove in the interview that I am suitable for the position of MD.
“Why do people choose XX Company?”
The reason I chose XX Company over other companies is because it is a company that is often described as “the first.” XX Company has always been the first in everything. It is the only company in Korea that carries such a wide variety of brands, including foreign brands that are difficult to find in Korea, but which are proven to be successful when sold, and it displays them in a way that makes them easy for people to find and purchase. People trust and buy products from ○○ Company, and they are surprised by the price and quality of the products. Everyone says that if you don’t know what to buy, you should go to ○○ Company. They say that the products there are definitely reliable and that all the products there are there for a reason. I believe that ○○ is the first brand to start this way and that it is also the first successful brand. That is why I decided to apply. I want to work at ○○, not anywhere else. I want to work at ○○, a company that has been described as “first” many times. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I have big dreams. I also dream of becoming the “first” at XX Company. I want to become the person who spreads the word about XX Company to others and creates another boom for XX Company, and I will do my best to grow and become such an employee. I am still young, inexperienced, and have a lot to learn, but I love ○○ Company and have a lot of enthusiasm, so I will be a new employee who is willing to take on bold challenges. That is the second reason why you should hire me.
“What I am good at is ‘chatting.'”
Finally, the reason why you should hire me is because I will be an employee who is really good at ‘chatting.’ Personally, I think that people who are reliable, serious, studious, or serious would find it difficult to be an MD at ○○ Company. I think that MDs need to be able to literally “play” with products, chatting about them, making jokes, trying out unusual uses for them, and even doing silly things like drawing pictures with lipstick, and find “fun” in the products. I am very confident in this regard. In fact, I have a beauty blog where I enjoy chatting with people. Most of the people who visit my blog are not looking for a specific makeup look or hairstyle, but rather people who are interested in various styles, always seeking something new, and have a desire for new things. My closest blogger friend also uses cosmetics for various purposes according to her needs, such as using eyeliner for lip makeup and creating new styles by wearing earrings on her clothes instead of in her ears. Through chatting with various people on my blog, I have gained a wide range of data on products and, more importantly, learned about various ways to use them. In fact, I also try various uses, such as checking the ingredients of cosmetics and applying foot cream to my hands or neck cream to my face. In other words, I am someone who knows how to play with cosmetics, fashion, and style. I will become an employee who makes ○○ shine by always thinking and developing new frameworks instead of fixed ones and finding new types of products. That is the third reason why you should hire me.
“I grew up through hardship.”
The last reason is related to my “sincerity.” People look at my appearance and think that I am a little flashy, so they assume that I have never had a hard life. Or, many people think that my parents are rich and have taken care of everything for me. However, the opposite is true. I started living independently from my parents at an early age. My parents experienced a major business crisis when I was young, and they are now working in the United States to pay off their debts. They are not doing the kind of work that we commonly think of as work in the United States, but are earning money to pay off their debts by doing jobs that are mainly done by the lower class in the United States. Naturally, the responsibility for my younger sibling and my own life fell on me. Since my first year of college, I have been working to support not only myself but also my younger sibling. Naturally, I didn’t get much sleep, and because of my curiosity and desire to explore various things, there were many times when I couldn’t sleep for two days straight in order to study and satisfy my curiosity. My parents trusted me and did not interfere in my affairs in Korea, so I had to take care of my younger brother’s education as well. I grew up struggling, but seeing my parents’ hardships, I realized that my struggles were nothing, and I grew up to be a person who does not complain. That is why I understand the value of money and work very well.
If I join your company, I will be free because I understand the importance of these things, but I will also work hard and take responsibility, showing that I have another side to me that is not just laughter, but also hard work, so that you will think, “This person has a hidden charm.” I look forward to working with you.
