Career

“I have been working diligently in the field since I was 19, and I have just entered my 10th year.”
I started working on-site at an early age. Perhaps it was because I always looked up to my older brother that I decided to work. My family was not well off, but my brother, who was a good student, started working as an accountant at a company despite his teachers’ advice that he should go to college. He paid for all my high school tuition from my first year to my third year. My brother was preparing for the civil service exam while working as an accountant, and now he has passed the exam and is a civil servant working for the National Police Agency. Seeing my brother living so hard and taking responsibility for everything, I was able to escape from my childish ways. In fact, I know that there are quite a few people who cannot escape from their parents’ shadow even after reaching the age of 30. If I hadn’t gone through hardship and if I didn’t have my brother, I would have ended up like them. However, seeing my brother start working at the age of 20, earn money, and take responsibility for our family, I realized that I also had to find a job quickly. So, when I turned 19 and was able to start looking for a job in earnest, I started working right away. At my age, the only job I could do with my skills was manual labor, but I think it was lucky for me to start working on a construction site. I learned on the job and picked up tips from my colleagues, and gradually became accustomed to the work.
Then, in 2020, a director I knew told me that I was still young and smart, so I should get some training in medium-sized machinery. I didn’t know anything about it, but I thought it would be a good idea since he said so, so I took the training and went to Vietnam the following year to start working. It was difficult because it was my first job and I was working in a foreign country, but I think that year was a driving force that allowed me to experience all kinds of things and learn my job more quickly. For a year, I learned how to manage medium-sized machinery and personnel, and how to dig and compact the ground using the equipment. I returned to South Korea and worked for three more years. Because I worked on site for a long time, I am very familiar with the work, and even though it has only been four years, I think I have become accustomed to handling the equipment. I am a well-prepared talent. I look forward to working with you.

Strengths and weaknesses

“I have a cool personality.”
The strength of my personality is that I am “cool.” What I felt while working on site since I was 19 was that although people here say what they think, they are actually very deep. The people who scold you for not doing your job well are the ones who don’t steal money from their superiors and distribute it fairly. Also, if you say you are sick, the people who get angry and ask you why you are sick are the ones who will secretly take you out for beef when you come to work the next day. Working among such people, I grew up to be a person with a cool personality who likes to communicate with people and brush off difficult and sad things. If high school was a time when I developed my academic skills and learned how to get along with my peers, then I feel that my time working was a time when my personality matured. I am a straightforward person who gets along well with others, and I am not someone who gets stressed over small things or thinks too much. I am also someone who speaks up and brushes off any problems that arise when interacting with others. I am also straightforward in my work, and it is not my style to do things behind people’s backs or try to get around the rules. I believe that if you are going to do something, you should do it right, so I always do my best and focus on the task at hand until it is finished.
The downside of my personality is that I tend to be misunderstood because I speak directly. People who meet me for the first time are often surprised by how friendly and outgoing I am. That’s why I always try to smile and approach people first, so that I make a good impression on them.

Self-improvement

“I started studying a new language for the first time in my life.”
After visiting Vietnam, I realized that I really needed to study languages. Also, while working, I saw that even among people doing the same job, those who were sent to China or Japan and knew a little of the language were paid much more and treated better. That’s why I started studying English and Chinese. It’s awkward to learn a new language and memorize words, but miraculously, I recently took the TOEIC test and scored 850, which is not enough, but I am proud of the result. I can’t invest a lot of time in studying every day, but I will continue to study steadily so that I can learn various languages and grow into a person who can work anywhere. Thank you very much.

Reason for applying and career aspirations

“I will be a responsible and hard-working employee.”
These days, I am really into watching a variety show called “Real Men.” As someone who served in the military, I find military programs particularly appealing. What I find especially interesting is that I see myself in the various characters as they struggle with military life. No matter how fast or how good you are at your job, once you enter the military, you become a so-called “fool.” You can’t see what’s ahead of you, so you make mistakes over and over again. However, depending on how well you recognize those mistakes, how you cover them up, and how you deal with them, you can quickly become a soldier who grows, or you can fail to do so. I think the same is true here. There is a lot of physical labor and a lot of interaction with people. There are many times when you have to talk to rough people and clear up misunderstandings. Therefore, even if you are a skilled person, it will take some time to get used to the workplace when you first start. However, I think that the difference lies in whether you make an effort or not. If you think you have to do well and make an effort, you will quickly become familiar with your work and the people around you.
If I join your company, I will always strive to become an employee who works hard to get used to the work, learn the job, get along with people, adapt to the company, and learn the systems. I will not become lazy just because I have done the work before, nor will I ignore the people who teach me or the systems. I will learn everything step by step, even if I already know some things, because there may be other things I don’t know. I will work diligently with a sense of responsibility and become an employee who works hard. Thank you very much.
