Is a simple list of your career history enough for a bank resume?

In this blog post, we will introduce ways to go beyond a simple list of your career history and convey your authenticity and uniqueness when writing a bank resume.

Growth

I am told that I have taken after my mother since I was born. I have always been meticulous and never let things slide. So, when I was young, I would cry and bother my mother if I didn’t get the seat I wanted. My mother, who is very similar to me in personality, works at a bank. In the past, working at a bank was not very difficult, but it was not common for women to work there. My mother took great pride in her work and did not like the idea of being a typical office worker. My father worked at a factory and came home every day to deposit his earnings. My mother knew how hard my father worked and watched him secretly, and that led to them getting married. Perhaps my mother was attracted to that aspect of my father, but when I look at my personality, I think I was attracted to his sincerity because we have similar personalities. In addition, my mother always had a strong sense of financial responsibility, and from a young age, she taught me to always write down how much money I spent, regardless of the amount. She also made a personal bank account for me and always put money into it. My father always respected my mother’s financial sense, and even now, he entrusts her with the financial matters of the factory, even though he is now the factory manager. My mother’s family and my father’s family were not wealthy to begin with, but thanks to their frugality and thriftiness, they were able to buy our house and send me to college. I have always seen my mother’s financial capabilities and have always strived to acquire those same abilities. I also worked hard to acquire my father’s sincerity. It is difficult to fully acquire all of my parents’ abilities, but I believe that thanks to my parents’ example, I have developed a strict and meticulous financial mindset and sincerity.

School days

When I entered elementary school, I got along well with my friends and was always a good listener in class. However, what I remember most from my elementary school days is my mother’s expression of joy when I got a perfect score on a math test. I was deeply influenced by my mother’s financial values and became very interested in math, which led me to study business in middle and high school. I read books on management and grew up dreaming of becoming a business leader like Steve Jobs. In order to become more independent, I decided to move out on my own as soon as I entered college. My parents, especially my mother, opposed the idea, saying that it would be a waste of money, but my father believed in me, and I was able to move out for one year. My parents agreed that if I could show them that I was contributing to the family income during that year, I could continue to live on my own. I decided that my tuition and rent for the first year would be my basic funds, and that I would have to earn money for the following year. Of course, I also had to maintain good grades. So, I worked part-time whenever I had time and devoted myself to my studies for two years, securing funds to support myself financially until I finished my military service with the help of a scholarship. After graduation, I started working as a representative for an online shopping mall. I eventually left the shopping mall, but I gained a lot of experience that will be useful in the future. In particular, I realized that I had a talent for economics rather than management, so I joined a bank, and now I am applying to your company.

Personality strengths

I believe that trust is the most fundamental virtue required to handle any task. This is because trust between people is not easily formed, but once formed, it is unbreakable. Therefore, the greatest strength of my personality is that I inspire trust in others. My mother always emphasized that trust is the most important economic concept. She said that if the economy is based solely on money, then the most important factor in saving, producing, and selling goods is people. She also said that the core of that factor is the ability to inspire trust. She said that trust is always a factor in the production of spiritual and material values between people, and that relationships based on trust produce countless values. That is why I have always tried to give trust to people. The first people I had were my family, and I have always formed values based on love by saying and doing things that give them trust. In addition, I have never broken a promise to my friends based on our friendship, and I have never said or done anything that could damage their trust in me. All of this has shaped my values throughout my life, and the relationships I have formed through part-time jobs and working at a shopping mall have also been built on trust.

Career (Experience)

My most recent place of employment was a credit finance company. There, I gained practical experience and theoretical knowledge of the financial industry. At my first job, I worked as a section chief in the sales planning department, where I was mainly responsible for medium- and long-term sales performance forecasts and management indicator creation and reporting, sales promotion planning, branch operation and procedure creation, sales performance MIS and sales trend MIS creation, commission scheme planning and management, competitor (market research) investigation and reporting, and work process improvement measures. After being promoted to branch manager, I was responsible for branch sales representatives and sales management, as well as BSA (Branch Self Assessment), which is an internal audit of the branch, and achieved the third-best performance in the country in the contract and purchasing department.

Motto and philosophy

Norman Vincent Peale once said, ”

“Draw a picture of your success in your mind and make it indelible. Hold on to this picture tenaciously. Never let it fade. Your mind will strive to make this picture a reality. Don’t put any obstacles in your imagination.”

The picture I have in my mind is seeing the dreams and hopes of others through myself. People often have the misconception that banks always pursue their own profits rather than the profits of their customers. Of course, when it comes to granting loans or conducting credit checks, banks may be strict and meticulous in their work as they are pursuing profits. However, in the end, all of this is for the happiness and benefit of our customers, and each of us is doing our best to help them. Therefore, I want to be someone who can bring happiness to everyone who does business with my branch and the bank as a whole. I want to achieve that dream at your company.

Aspirations after joining the company

If I am hired by your company, it means that you recognize me as someone who is needed, so even though I have experience, I will strive to handle all tasks efficiently as a new employee. In addition, I will rid myself of any arrogance that comes from my experience and always approach my work with a humble attitude, eager to learn.
