In this blog post, we will share some key points and tips on how to write an effective self-introduction letter when applying for a job at a logistics or distribution company.
Growth
“I gained confidence through sports.”
When I was young, I was a clumsy child who couldn’t do anything. I was bad at art and music, and I thought that there was nothing in the world that I could do, so I was a child who was scolded by my teachers every day. As a result, my self-confidence naturally declined, and I hated going to school. I didn’t want anyone to know how I felt, so I rebelled for no reason. However, when I was in the second year of junior high school, during the difficult period of puberty, I met a teacher who gave me courage and helped me gain self-confidence. He was a teacher who majored in track and field and had just become a junior high school teacher. He planted dreams in my daily life, which had no purpose. He made me realize that I was good at sports by telling me that I was a natural at running. Thanks to him, I was able to gain confidence through sports. The time I spent exercising with my teacher in the track and field club was very hard and physically demanding, but I was able to overcome it all. This was because I had something to do. Once I had the goal of going to college through track and field, studying became fun.
Of course, I had to quit track and field due to my accident, and after that, I decided to go to college because it would be easy to find a job, so I prepared for college and was accepted. However, through my teacher, who was a ray of light during my turbulent times, I realized the greatness of having a goal in life. I realized that nothing is difficult when you have a goal. Since then, I have been training myself to set goals and work toward them. I chose to study logistics because I wanted to support my mother, who was struggling to make ends meet, and once I set that goal, I was able to study without wavering. Even after entering university, I participated in many fun activities through a sports club, in addition to studying hard, and I was able to maintain my position as second in my class because I had set clear goals for myself. I think I developed the determination to live without wavering and to pursue my goals.
Strengths and weaknesses
“Ignorance is bliss.”
That is the strength of my personality. My weakness is that I just do things. I believe that you should keep your thoughts simple and show your sincerity through your actions. And just as everyone has their own individual abilities, I think that those who are good at making plans and executing them should do that, and those who are more action-oriented, like me, should just work hard. That is why I am good at recognizing people, and I have many people around me. Anyway, I just do it. I used to work at a security company while preparing to study abroad. It was a three-shift work system, and night shifts were very difficult. Especially when I was the youngest and had to work night shifts in a row, I couldn’t sleep and my whole body ached. But I did it because it was my job. Just doing it may seem easy, but it’s not. It means doing it without complaining and pretending that it’s not hard. However, thanks to that spirit, I became the first person to work at the security company for a full year (many people quit halfway through), and I was able to save up enough money to study abroad. I think you can recover from fatigue quickly when you are young. That’s why I always tell myself to just do it and take on any challenge.
The downside of my personality is that I am cautious, so it is difficult for me to think quickly or be flexible. For example, I tend to struggle a little when I have to make quick decisions. However, once I get used to it, I can do my job better than anyone else. I am confident in this regard. I will study hard, become familiar with my work, and become a reliable employee who can do my job well and carry it out smoothly.
Activities inside and outside of school
“I work part-time to pay for my college education!”
For both my activities inside and outside of school, I would like to mention my part-time job. At school, I was recognized by my professors and worked as a teaching assistant to support their activities. I divided my time between working in the office and studying, but through my work as a teaching assistant, I was able to refine my somewhat blunt personality and learned how to greet people, answer phones, clean thoroughly, and write detailed documents. I also worked at various distribution warehouses, where I learned the processes of a distribution center through hands-on experience. I particularly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere at the distribution warehouses, and I am still in touch with the older men I worked with at that time. I also worked part-time while studying abroad. When I was studying in the United States, I couldn’t work many hours on a student visa. So I had to work short hours, and naturally ended up doing what is commonly referred to as odd jobs. There, I worked at a logistics warehouse and learned how the American system differs from the Japanese system, how the market works in a large market, and what aspects of the system are reasonable. My part-time job, which I took on unintentionally, taught me much more than my major, and based on that experience and practical knowledge, I am confident that I can work diligently. I look forward to working with you.
Reason for applying and aspirations after joining the company
“I will grow with KNL and help KNL grow.”
From what I learned at school, logistics managers have specialized knowledge of logistics and are responsible for rationally establishing logistics systems for the transportation, storage, unloading, and packaging of cargo, as well as providing consultation and advice on these matters. They analyze the time, labor, and costs required for logistics movements, storage, and shipping, and based on the analysis results, they design and implement the most reasonable and economical methods for corporate logistics management and logistics support systems, and manage all logistics-related systems, including unloading, packaging, storage, transportation, and distribution processing. And the logistics managers I saw while working were mostly very meticulous and thorough, and above all, they understood the field well. I still remember how comfortable and pleasant it was for us to work with someone who was good at their job, and I even remember their names.
I want to be like that too. In particular, I want to become a professional logistics expert who can make everyone at KNL Logistics feel comfortable and work efficiently. In this way, I will contribute to the further development of KNL and enable it to export more reasonably and systematically. Based on my actual work experience, including working in the United States and with people of various nationalities, I will become a person who works with both my head and my hands. I will also be a person who works on the front lines. I am young and have worked on the front lines, so I am very familiar with the workplace. As someone who knows the field, I will work wisely based on that knowledge and become a wise person who can make everything run smoothly. Finally, I will work diligently with endless enthusiasm and become a person who makes consistent efforts. Thank you very much.
