In this blog post, we will introduce the key elements and selling points that HR managers look for in resumes when hiring for material management positions.
Growth
When I was a child, I really liked cross-stitching. It’s not something that boys usually like to do. In fact, I was afraid of being teased by other children, so I always did my cross-stitching at home, and when I sat next to my mother, who enjoyed cross-stitching, and worked intently with her, she would praise me for my skill. I didn’t have a particular talent or interest in sewing or housework, but I found myself drawn to cross-stitching because, unlike knitting, which I thought was simply a matter of following a pattern, I discovered that cross-stitching patterns were surprisingly complex. In particular, in order to create a single shape with threads going back and forth in different directions, it was necessary to follow the pattern with precise numbers and calculations. I think it’s similar to the process of transforming emotional images into rational numbers and coordinates in order to complete a cross-stitch picture.
To be honest, the biggest reason I liked it was because the designs of Nemo Logic puzzles, which I had loved since I was a child, and cross-stitch designs were both meticulously connected like coordinates, and in the end, they formed a single picture. Unlike Nemuro logic, where you can erase and redraw if you think the picture is strange, cross-stitching is difficult to restore, which further aroused my sense of adventure. The more beautiful and large-scale the design, the more complex it was, and the more precision was required to ensure that each coordinate was correct, which was also very appealing to me. In other words, I had a somewhat feminine hobby that made me worry about being teased by my friends, but it was a kind of challenge for my coordinate analysis skills and dexterity.
School life
I remember standing out among my friends as a child with a keen eye and good observation skills. Even without a ruler, I could draw straight lines and estimate numbers quite accurately, which was enough to cause a small sensation among the children. Some children even called me a cyborg or a robot because I could produce figures that were very close to the actual numbers even when I was doing mental arithmetic. This habit of mine also affected my judgment, and I remember feeling quite perplexed when I had to make decisions based on cause and effect without hesitation, but when emotions got involved and subjective value judgments came into play.
My fascination with numbers and precise coordinates was also due to my memories of the awkwardness I sometimes experienced in human relationships. Unlike people who are never completely wise in their choices and end up constantly adjusting themselves to their ideals, mathematical analysis usually ends with a conclusion that is final. When I sometimes confided my worries to my parents, they told me that it is the constant effort to change imperfections into perfection that makes us human, and that I should not give up on my efforts to be human just because the answer is not easy to find.
In mathematics, the parts that are simply discarded or omitted to shorten formulas are sometimes more important than the answers we seek in human life. It was difficult to understand at the time, but now that I am working and have become a little more open-minded, I realize that he was speaking words that apply to the whole of human life! I have thought about this again and again.
Personality
When a problem arises, I try to cut out the unnecessary parts as much as possible and think about it. This is because I find that I can organize my thoughts much more clearly by leaving only the most essential parts and summarizing the main points one by one. There are countless techniques for avoiding the core of an issue and beating around the bush, so if you don’t know how to grasp the main point of a sentence, it becomes very difficult to organize your thoughts.
I think that reducing the volume as much as possible and embarking on a journey of thought with a light attitude is similar to traveling. Just as it is difficult to clearly distinguish between what is necessary for survival and what is not when you are at home and want to have everything you need for your daily life, it is also difficult to distinguish between what is necessary and what is not when you are traveling. However, once you pack only what you need and go out, you can gain a more objective understanding of the problems you face by distancing yourself from them.
However, this method does not work well for issues related to human relationships, and there were often situations where I thought I had packed only the essentials, but things that I thought were useless and did not pack turned out to be key elements in the event. Even though I thought I had identified and discarded the necessary and unnecessary parts of my thinking, I am prone to making such distinctions, and sometimes I am unable to properly judge the importance of things. In this regard, I think I need to learn to look at problems with a more thoughtful attitude.
Hobbies and special skills
Since I was a child, I have been absorbed in Nemuro Logic, crossword puzzles, and other simple games that require complex thinking. The rules of the games themselves have not changed much since they were first created, but I prefer games that have a depth and long history that rival the latest games. Sudoku and magic squares are also like that. Rather than relying on the variety of game elements and rules, I am absorbed in games that require constant thought and brainpower, even though the components are simple, and when I am immersed in them, I feel my mind becoming clearer.
The simple design, which does not dazzle the eyes with flashy graphics or characters, and the rules, which are simply a matter of deducing the causal relationships between numbers, give me a special feeling of satisfaction when I solve each puzzle and a huge picture is completed. I think this is similar to human work. Even if the tasks you perform every day seem boring and meaningless at times, when you look back after a considerable amount of time has passed, you can see that they are connected to a larger picture that has been completed.
Motivation for applying and aspirations after joining the company
I have always been interested in the details that make up the big picture, so the qualities I looked for in a company were: How big and complete is the vision they are pursuing? And how are the detailed systems for achieving that vision structured? Your company’s current situation is so well organized that there is no need to doubt the vision for the company as a whole, and there is a high degree of integration between the jobs and employees that make up that big picture.
I decided to become a member of your company with its well-developed system and work together to achieve its vision. I will prove my ability to perform such tasks by making thorough preparations to become a part of the big picture.
