In this blog post, we will introduce key keywords and effective expressions that must be included in your cover letter when applying for a new QA position.
Growth
“Learning diligence in a family that communicates together.”
My home has a warm atmosphere, but the rules are very strict. In particular, the rule that everyone must wake up early in the morning, eat breakfast, and exercise is so strict that it even applies during exam periods. At 6 a.m., everyone in my family gets up, eats breakfast together, and then has a short family meeting. We hold the meeting while walking around a nearby park. We talk about what happened during the night, discuss any tasks we need to do, and offer help to each other. If we have any complaints or suggestions, we talk about them as well and plan our day. This is how my family communicates every morning. There were times when it was difficult, but I think that’s why we were able to maintain a democratic atmosphere and become a family that communicates well with each other. Also, because we get up early in the morning, we are never late and can always prepare everything in advance. I think that’s definitely an advantage. Starting your daily routine earlier than others means you have more time to prepare.
School days
“Getting what I wanted through part-time work.”
When I entered university, my parents told me that they wanted me to become more independent. So my father found me a place to live and told me that he would not interfere in my life and that I should live on my own. I lived in Gwangju and attended university in Seoul, so I became independent and started working part-time to support myself. It was difficult to live on my own at first, but I didn’t realize how hard it was to earn money. My parents only supported me with rent and transportation expenses, so I had to earn the rest myself, but even working three tutoring jobs was often not enough. At that time, I worked various part-time jobs and lost sleep, but when I felt a sense of accomplishment from being able to support myself, and when I was able to save money and travel abroad, I felt truly happy and fulfilled. It was during my college years that I realized how enjoyable it is to accomplish something on my own and enjoy the satisfaction that comes with it. In addition to my part-time job, I also enjoyed my club activities. I was able to meet various people, prepare for contests together, and even win awards, which made me appreciate the joy of working with others.
Strengths and weaknesses
“I am very responsible and see things through to the end.”
I am more responsible than others. This is clearly evident in my work. I used to work at a customer service center, where I found that most customers were unreasonable, which made me neglect them and feel annoyed with my work. However, I didn’t want to treat customers that way. So, I approached every consultation thoroughly and answered even prank calls sincerely. As a result, I was promoted to an excellent employee, and I was able to receive more important calls at a larger desk, earn the recognition of my superiors, and receive bonuses. I am also sincere in my relationships with others. If I make a mistake, I apologize immediately, no matter what the situation, and I do my best in any situation if it is my responsibility. Because of my personality, my superiors are particularly fond of me, which has made my work life enjoyable.
The downside of my personality is that I don’t pay attention to other things when I’m working. I tend to neglect my surroundings and focus only on my work because I take my responsibilities seriously. When I’m not working, I try to be more friendly to others in order to improve my interpersonal skills.
Career (Experience)
“Customer service at a department store and factory”
After graduating from college, I started working at a department store customer service center. Department stores are very busy during peak hours, and there were many complaints from sensitive customers, so I had a lot of trouble at first. However, I realized that even though the work seemed complicated, it was all about dealing with people, so I put my heart into it and gradually became more accustomed to it, and my performance improved. My duties included handling returns and exchanges, responding to customer complaints, providing real-time consultation, and entering data and writing reports after work. When I was promoted to consultation manager in recognition of my abilities, I was responsible for training customer service representatives at the factory, consulting with underperforming employees, and monitoring operations in real time. As a member of the human resources team, I was also responsible for managing office supplies and personnel for the entire company, and I was selected as an outstanding employee in recognition of my performance.
Career philosophy
“Customers need to receive perfect products.”
While working at the customer service center, I put myself in the customer’s shoes rather than the employee’s. This is because I believe that customers who pay money and come to see products need to receive perfect products. When you think about it, it is only natural, but there were many places that sold products that were not up to standard. I didn’t think that was right, and I wondered if I could apply this way of thinking to my job, which led me to apply for your company. I believe that constantly striving to provide customers with perfect products is the best way to serve your company. I believe that releasing even one more perfect product will improve your image and become the best marketing tool, as customers will continue to seek out your products. That is why I started studying again to join your company as a QA engineer.
