In this blog post, we will share tips on how to write a general sales self-introduction letter that goes beyond formal sentences and conveys your own experiences and sincerity.
Growth
“Growing up with people who always helped me”
When I was very young, I was in poor health. I was born underweight and had a weak immune system, and I often missed school due to chronic illnesses during my school years. So I grew up undergoing various surgeries, and every time, there were many people who helped me. When I had surgery, the doctor was very kind and referred me to other hospitals where I could receive specialized treatment, and he also carefully checked the procedures at the hospital.
My parents helped me so that I could attend school properly. Since I couldn’t go to school often, they hired a private tutor so that my studies would not be affected. Thanks to my private tutor, I was able to keep up with my schoolwork. On the other hand, when I couldn’t go to school, my classmates often visited me in the hospital and helped me by copying their notes for me. I think it is because of those friends around me that I am able to live a positive life even now.
When it was time to go to college, my school teachers helped me. I always liked English, so even when I was sick, I would attend English class diligently, and my English teacher noticed this and helped me a lot with my college entrance exams. He recommended the school and department he had attended and gave me a lot of information I needed to enter that department. Thanks to my teacher’s efforts, I was able to decide on my career path early on and work hard toward my goal. I studied hard to get into the English literature department, and thanks to my early preparation, I was accepted through the rolling admission process and was able to attend university on a scholarship.
Strengths and weaknesses
“Optimistic and positive mindset”
I was in poor health since I was a child, so it took a long time for me to recover. It was already after I became an adult when I finally thought I could live a normal life after undergoing various surgeries. Therefore, it was only after I became a university student that I was able to stop being sick and actively engage in my studies and social activities. However, that does not mean that I grew up with a dark personality. I am naturally cheerful and friendly, so many people around me were willing to help me.
Thanks to the many people around me and their support, I was able to grow up with a bright personality. Because of my past illness, I am not easily shaken by minor setbacks, and I live my life with gratitude for the environment I have been given. I consider it a dream and a blessing to be able to study, eat healthy meals, and exercise. When I think this way, I feel happy when I open my eyes in the morning, and I don’t have to try to think positively because everything around me seems positive.
I think this optimistic nature is a blessing. On the other hand, my weakness is that I am a little lazy. Rather than using my time wisely, I tend to take my time and leave gaps between tasks. So, when I am given an assignment, I don’t try to finish it right away, but take a long-term view and proceed slowly. This makes me feel comfortable and allows me to work slowly without rushing, but it can also be a disadvantage as I tend to miss deadlines. That is why I am training myself to be punctual, especially when it comes to work.
Overseas experience
“Determined to make unforgettable memories in Australia”
When I was in college, I majored in English literature and was able to study English to my heart’s content. I focused on conversation and practiced speaking, and while taking classes with native speakers, I met a friend who became my conversation partner. He was an Australian exchange student in Korea, and we became close friends through our conversations in English. I taught him Korean in my spare time and helped him with anything he found difficult at school.
When vacation came, he went back to Australia for a while and made me an offer. He asked me if I wanted to go to Australia with him during vacation. I readily accepted his offer and used all the money I had saved from my part-time job to buy a plane ticket to Australia. I didn’t have much experience during my school days and had never been abroad, so this was my first overseas trip. In order to make unforgettable memories in Australia, my friend and I traveled all over the country.
I still remember the vast fields, ranches, and beautiful natural environment of Australia. In addition to traveling to natural places, I also enjoyed visiting the colorful city center and, above all, meeting people along the way. I met the parents of a kind friend, stayed at a hotel where I met Americans my age, and even met other Korean travelers. Through these chance encounters, I set a new goal for myself: to make friends around the world while traveling.
Self-development
“Winning scholarships in the English Language and Literature Department”
When I entered university, I was admitted on a rolling basis and received a scholarship for four years based on my grades. However, this scholarship was not guaranteed, and I had to maintain a certain level of grades to continue receiving it. But I ended up getting low grades because I was too focused on my major and extracurricular activities. As a result, I lost my scholarship and had to work hard to get it back. Above all, I prepared for the TOEIC and TOEFL, which are the scholarship criteria for English Language and Literature.
In the case of TOEIC, I usually scored in the upper 800s, so I tried to exceed the mid-900s. As for TOEFL, I had never prepared for it before, so I decided to take a TOEFL class with the intention of giving it a try. After investing time in self-development for the scholarship for only one semester, I was able to achieve my TOEIC score. With a score of 950, I exceeded the scholarship requirements for my department, and I received a similar score on the TOEFL, which proved my abilities. As a result, I was able to receive another scholarship and also received external scholarships through external exams, becoming a student who has received every type of scholarship available in my department.
Aspirations after joining the company
“I have experience developing English education content.”
I majored in English language and literature in college and graduated with high grades. I studied English education with a keen interest in the field, and even created my own English education content while I was in college. I understand that YBM Sisa Junior mainly develops content for teaching English to relatively young students. I participated in a project for online English education content during college, so I thought I would be well suited for this job and decided to apply. In a project to develop English education content, I basically presented an educational engineering design process and devised step-by-step learning content for that process.
For example, I developed a program that allows users to learn English vocabulary online. Random words are presented, and users must select the correct meaning for each word, or vice versa. I worked hard to develop questions by creating examples one by one and adding interesting wrong answers. As a result, I was able to develop effective English vocabulary learning content using a game format. Through this project, I confirmed that I am well-suited for this type of work, and I decided to apply to your company, which is an English education company like the one where I worked.
