In this blog post, we’ll show you how to go beyond simply listing your work experience and effectively incorporate your factory experience and action-oriented attitude into your production management personal statement.
Growing up
“I recommend myself.”
When I was younger, I lived in China for a short time. I lived in Korea until the second grade and then lived in China for two years and went to a Chinese school, which was a huge shock for me. In Korea, no matter how young you are, everybody tends to tell you to be quiet or don’t speak up if you don’t know what you’re doing, and that’s how adults teach children. But in China, the culture was different, and there were many kids who would nominate themselves if they wanted to be the leader of the class. That’s when I realized how beautiful and enjoyable an active life is by seeing and feeling it with my own friends, so from then on, I always nominated myself. If someone needed someone to clean, I would do it, and if there was something I couldn’t do to fulfill my responsibilities, I would come out early the next morning to finish it. In high school, I volunteered to be a helper for my disabled friends and studied with them. When I was studying with a blind friend, I helped him with his homework and studied with him even when I didn’t have time to study with myself.
So, I felt that it was more of a do-it-yourself mentality, and it’s more important to actually do it and experience it, and not be one of those stupid people who just watch something happen. Because I was so enthusiastic and always confident and willing to do anything, I think that’s what made this lacking person, who was eventually nominated and elected to be the student council president of my high school, to be someone who works for the students and the school.
School Life
“Learn through experience, feel through work.”
Once I got into school, I worked a lot, because I wanted to experience different things and to do that, naturally, you need money, for example, if I wanted to go traveling, I needed money, and there was a time when I wanted to learn kayak, and that also needed funds, so I worked a lot. There was a time when I was screaming at the top of my lungs because I had a promotional job at a department store, and there was a time when I was driving a truck and selling cabbages. I’ve also traveled around Hongdae selling bracelets and necklaces. But the hardest experience I’ve ever had was working in a factory. The factory I worked at was a tire factory, and it was a job where you had to stand in front of the machine with no time to go to the bathroom because the parts were constantly coming out, and I would come home after twelve hours and feel sick to my stomach. But I was paid enough for it, and what was even more interesting was that I developed a really deep relationship with the people who worked there. Even though the work was hard, they would support each other, and there was no one above the other, no one below the other, and I liked them, so I applied for a part-time job at the factory the next year, and the year after that. The boss would swear at me, but he was very kind, so he always gave me more money. So I wanted to have experiences, so I worked a lot, and through that work, I learned various aspects of life, various aspects of life, and then I found out that there was a job called production manager, and I decided to get a certificate to do that job.
I also had various experiences with the money I earned. In particular, I traveled a lot and saw a wide range of the world, and what I felt was that “human beings make everything possible.” Therefore, I felt that you can’t imagine the possibilities and that you should always live with an open mind and accept any person instead of ignoring them. Therefore, I tend to take care of my relationships and the people I come in contact with very much.
Personality strengths and weaknesses
“Don’t worry, act.”
The biggest strength of my personality is “action”. I’m an action person because I don’t think there’s any point in worrying. Sometimes people look at me and say, “You’re so brave,” or “You’re all smiles and no worries,” or “You’re so positive,” but I’m naturally a negative person and a perfectionist, so I tend to stress a lot. But I think the reason it doesn’t show and why I seem so energetic on the outside is because I’m always in action, and I know that worrying is useless. It’s no use worrying that I don’t have the money for college, what’s the use is to get a part-time job as soon as possible so that I can pay for it, and it’s no use worrying that I can’t get a job because I don’t speak English, what’s the use is to learn even one word of English right away. So I’m always in action and I think that’s what gives people the impression that I’m an energetic person, and it gives me energy. I like this aspect of my personality because it gives people positive energy and of course it makes me get things done quickly.
The downside of my personality is that this action-oriented nature can sometimes make me impatient. I tend to be a one-track mind and don’t look back, and I tend not to be very sympathetic to people when things don’t go well. Of course, I realize that this kind of personality is necessary to some extent when working, but I sometimes wonder if I should be more considerate of the people around me.
Post-employment aspirations
“To become a shining employee of KKD.”
I chose KKK not only because it is named after my alma mater, but also because of its innovativeness, always striving to improve and introduce new medicines. The company’s vision is always forward-looking, and it is always in the news. There are not many people in Korea who are trying to do this, so your company always shines.
If I join your company, I will be an employee who will make that shine even brighter. Based on my work in the factory, of course, I have not yet run a full-scale pharmaceutical production line, but I have had three years of practical experience in the factory. As a person who has excelled not only in theory but also in practice, I will be a person who combines experience, theory, and new knowledge gained through learning to create a production line with smooth production and accurate processes so that the light shines even brighter. To do so, I will be a person who treats people well. No matter how many machines there are, in the end, it is all people’s work. I will be an employee who treats people and sympathizes with them with deep words, keeping in mind that all of this is the work of my precious employees, so I will be an employee who makes it a happier place, a better place, so that everyone who works there can have fun. Thank you very much.
