In this blog post, we will guide you on what kind of experience you should focus on in your self-introduction letter when applying for a sales management position in order to increase your persuasiveness and competitiveness.
Growth and School Life
“No matter how angry you are, listen to ten words and then get angry.”
I am the eldest child and have twin younger brothers. Having twin brothers who are one year apart requires more patience than you might think. It’s not twice as much trouble, but usually four to ten times more trouble. There is never a day when the glass windows in our house are intact, and it is normal for one of them to be injured. Because of them, my dolls were broken, and my notebooks were always torn. As I became more and more like a boy, my father called me one day and told me something. He said that even if I was in a situation where I felt angry, I should listen to ten words before getting angry. From then on, I believed my father’s words and listened to ten words. Then I realized that there was a reason for everything. Even though it didn’t make sense, there was a reason why my brother tore my skirt and burned my vacation homework. Thanks to my father’s great teaching, I changed from being an angry person to a understanding person, and this made my younger siblings listen to me better. Even when I am out and about dealing with people, I am able to listen to them, which helps prevent misunderstandings and resolve situations.
As a result, I found myself surrounded by people, and after entering university, I always found myself in a leadership position. As a department president, class representative, club vice president, and club president, I realized that being a leader means listening to people. It is not a position to manage or teach people, or to point out their mistakes, but to listen to them as much as possible, understand their circumstances, help them do better, and help them as much as I can. After realizing this, I tried to be the person who helped the most and listened the most in my community and in my position.
Achievement example
“If you think you can do it, you can do it!”
I think the good thing about being young is that you are “immature.” Because you haven’t experienced the bitter side of life yet, you feel that you can take on any challenge and dream anything. That’s why I thought I should do a lot of immature things when I was young. In particular, as the eldest daughter who took care of my younger siblings, I always had to behave myself at home, so when I entered college, I wanted to challenge myself through various activities. That’s why I went on a week-long trip abroad. At that time, a bank was running a program for college students, selecting well-planned and enthusiastic students to participate in a trip. It was a very famous program, and some of my friends spent a whole year preparing for it. When they heard that I was preparing for it in just one week, many of them thought that it would be impossible and that I would be wasting my time. However, in the end, I did it, and I was able to visit England, the land of fantasy. Of course, while preparing, I didn’t know the language, so I stayed up for three nights memorizing self-introductions and phrases I would need to use, and my hands were sore from revising my plan, but I didn’t think it was impossible or that I couldn’t do it. I believed deeply that I could do it, and that’s why I was able to do it. When working at Kyochin, I want to be someone who spreads positive energy and vitality by believing that anything is possible, rather than thinking that something is impossible in advance. I will always be a person who looks on the bright side of things. Thank you very much.
Personality and talents
“I have a personality that likes people, and I have a talent for helping others.”
The best thing about my personality is that I like people. I am outgoing and active. I like being part of a group and hope to live an active life. Although it is necessary to sit quietly and think, I want to invest more of my life in mixing with people and achieving something together. This is because there are endless possibilities for what people can achieve when they work together, and I love people, so I enjoy getting together with others and combining our talents to accomplish something. That is why I was one of the few business administration students who enjoyed teamwork and regularly participated in clubs because I like people. I also enjoy meeting new people and getting along with them. I think this makes me well-suited for a sales management position, which requires meeting many people and communicating positively.
I also have a talent for helping others. This is a talent I inherited from my mother. My mother has a vegetable garden and always shares her harvest. When she makes pancakes, she always makes enough for 10 people and distributes them to the neighbors. When she makes kimchi, she makes 200 jars and distributes them to all the people who live alone in the neighborhood, even if it means bending over until her back hurts. She told me that sharing is something that must be learned. I learned the spirit of sharing from my mother and followed her example, so sharing has become a habit for me. If I join your company, you will always see me bringing delicious food to share and getting along with people.
Areas of interest and desired position
“I want to do work that puts others first.”
The reason I wanted to work in sales management is because I wanted to start my career by thinking of others first. I believe that sales management is about helping salespeople work as efficiently as possible. Therefore, it is necessary to have a good understanding of sales and management. I am not sure if what I know is all I need to know, as I have only read books and studied. However, I have a natural affinity for people, so I am good at recognizing their strengths. I also enjoy helping others, so I have a keen sense of how to make people feel good and am good at reading people’s emotions. Based on these natural qualities, I want to start my first job as the most pleasant and energetic sales manager at Kyojin. I am sure I will have many shortcomings and make many mistakes. However, I will work hard so that in exactly three years, I will be the person who brings a new wind of change to Kyojin. No matter how much money is valued in this day and age, it is people who ultimately bring money. I will work with the goal of becoming someone who can bring people together and revitalize Kyōin. Thank you very much.
