Growth

The house where my family currently lives is a testament to my father and mother’s hard work. They wanted to have a house where they could spend the rest of their lives, even if it took a long time, and they worked hard to achieve that goal. My father, who majored in architectural design, always designed our future home. My mother thought about the interior design. It was a difficult time, so it was not easy to achieve this dream. However, my parents worked hard with confidence, and now I live in a house that is exactly the same as the one my father designed and my mother imagined when I was a child. Watching my father and mother closely, I realized the importance of having a goal. My parents always worked hard to achieve their goal of building a house for our family. They said that no matter how difficult things got, they were able to persevere by thinking about the house we would live in someday. When I saw our house for the first time after it was completed, I was so moved that I couldn’t speak. I think I was even more moved because I knew how hard my parents had worked to build that house. Through this process of growing up, I deeply realized the importance of having a clear goal, and I developed the habit of always setting goals and making specific plans to achieve them. This habit has not only been very helpful in my social life, but has also had a positive impact on my life in general. My ultimate goal is to become a top expert in the construction industry.

School days

I loved art and was very interested in design. I was so interested in art that I was in charge of the interior design of my room. My mother, who recognized my interest, encouraged me to attend an art school, and since it was something I was interested in, I studied with passion. When I was in high school, a professor of architecture came to give a lecture. He talked about urban aesthetics and explained that architecture is the study of how to create harmony between the aesthetic elements of a city, such as the trees lining the streets in the city center. His words caught my attention. It was a field I knew nothing about, and his words opened up a whole new world for me. After the lecture, I went home and looked up information about architecture. The name of the department itself was unfamiliar to me. Naturally, I didn’t know anything about the curriculum. However, as I searched for information about jobs in that field, I became fascinated by architecture. I think what attracted me most was the fact that it was related to art. Having set my goal to become an architect, I began to draw up a roadmap to achieve it, and I was able to enroll in the university of my choice.
I spent four years with pride and confidence in having been admitted to the university of my choice. I was able to feel the energy of cooperation while conducting research with my classmates, and I learned the attitudes of consideration and sharing through club activities. As the leader of a volunteer club, I actively participated in activities to help neighbors in need with my friends. Among them, there was a volunteer activity that involved arts and physical education activities for low-income children, and I was particularly drawn to a child who was very interested in drawing. Not only did he have a passion for drawing, but he also needed financial support to buy art supplies, so I gave him the art supplies I had been using to someone who had given up on his interest in art. I was proud that my small act of sharing could help someone.

Strengths and weaknesses

Influenced by my parents, who emphasized harmony with others, I have developed a kind personality and a desire to contribute to society. I want to live in a society where good people succeed. Nowadays, being kind and being stupid seem to have the same meaning. I think it is necessary to change this perception in society. In a competitive society such as capitalism, selfish people are bound to succeed. However, it is difficult to build trust and expect cooperation from others in such a society. I believe that good people are marginalized because they do not fit into the capitalist system. In order for a capitalist society to coexist and prosper, I believe that more people need to have a good heart and strive for justice. Seeing social issues such as construction fraud, I have come to believe that I must become someone who puts the safety of citizens first. In order to achieve this goal, I may have to sacrifice some of my own interests. However, I believe that trust can be restored when a social atmosphere is created where people do not begrudge this and take it for granted. Some people tell me, “Take care of yourself too,” because I always consider others. However, I want to be a member of a society where people consider each other.

Career history (or experience that demonstrates work ability)

In my work, I believe that whatever I do is my job, and I work with the mindset that it is something that will help me, which has allowed me to gain recognition and trust. During my school vacations, I applied to a construction company and worked as a site worker. I transported materials, assisted with approvals, and managed the workers on site. It was work done under the scorching sun in midsummer, and as the youngest child, I thought I would never be able to do such hard work, but by taking the initiative and working harder than anyone else, I was eventually recognized by everyone and given more work to do. No one is good at something from the beginning. However, I believe that people who are aware of their shortcomings and strive to improve are the ones who are truly needed.

Motto and creed

Brian Adams said, “Learn the art of patience. When you feel anxious about whether you can achieve your goals, control your mind as you have trained it. If you cannot be patient, you will become nervous and fearful, and you will become discouraged and fail. If you know how to be patient, you will gain confidence, determination, and a rational perspective, and you will ultimately succeed.”
I believe that construction is like human life. Just as a person who grows up without a solid foundation will go astray, I believe that a building without a solid foundation will be poorly constructed. In addition, just as a building that is not in harmony with its surroundings creates a sense of disharmony, I believe that people must have a sense of coexistence with those around them in order to avoid feeling lonely. That is why I always want to build with people in mind.

Reason for applying and aspirations

I applied with the goal of becoming the best construction expert. I believe that by working at your company, which operates the largest construction projects in Korea and abroad, and developing my professional skills, I will be able to get one step closer to achieving my goal.
I will work diligently at your company, leading by example and maintaining a positive attitude. I promise to always remain true to my original intentions and never disappoint you.
