In this blog post, we will show you how to differentiate yourself from others by turning your ordinary background into a unique story that will make your bank application letter more convincing and memorable.
Background
When I was a child, I was always conscious that my parents would judge me based on my behavior and appearance. As I was not old enough to take full responsibility for my own actions, my mistakes were blamed on my parents, and I was often scolded, “How were you raised at home?” and “Didn’t your parents teach you this?” However, I knew that my parents were working hard at their jobs to provide a better life for me, so I always did my best not to let my mother be judged by people who said things like, “That’s why women shouldn’t work outside the home,” or “A mother should stay home with her children.” When she had to work late, she would sometimes come home at dawn, and she felt sorry that she couldn’t take care of me properly. The only way I could repay her for her kindness was to work hard at everything I did.
On the other hand, some people told me that I didn’t need to take on such an excessive burden and that if I was immature and clumsy, I should just admit it and learn as I went along. However, in order to make ends meet, my parents always shared their heavy responsibilities and burdens with each other and lived their lives with care, so I tried to build up my strength so that I could share even a small part of their burden as soon as possible. It was too painful to just wait for the day when I would grow up, neglecting my duties, while watching my parents struggle every day.
School life
I was aware that in order to reassure my parents and become a child they could be proud of, I had to work hard at my studies, which was my duty as a student, and achieve good results. My parents always encouraged me to find what I truly wanted to do and told me that it was okay if I wasn’t outstanding in my studies, as long as I grew up healthy and without worries. However, I was determined to prove to my parents how well they had raised me, so I was passionate about working hard to earn the admiration of others. I knew that I would never be praised or recognized by others if I remained at the same level as everyone else and achieved only mediocre results, so I always tried to push myself beyond my limits.
Sometimes I overdid it and reached my physical limits or even got a nosebleed, but whenever I saw my parents taking care of me even after working late, caring only about my health, I became even more determined to keep going and show them what I was capable of. My parents told me that maintaining my health was more important than anything else, and they were careful not to let my excessive ambition to get good grades harm my health. However, I believed that if I just went to school and lived an ordinary, healthy life, no one would remember me, so I was determined to prove my worth by standing out from the crowd, even if it meant pushing myself a little too hard. This was not just my problem, but also a problem that could be attributed to the skills of my parents who taught and disciplined me.
Personality
I am a person who is willing to invest time and effort in order to become a talented individual who always stands out. I always set the bar high for myself and strive to reach a certain level by setting goals that are just out of reach. I am aware that feelings of complacency, such as “This is good enough” or “This is enough for now,” gradually lead people to compromise and lower their standards. Therefore, I constantly raise the bar for myself to stay alert. I have learned from experience that if you become overly satisfied with your own achievements, you will not be able to see beyond them, and your growth will inevitably slow down.
Therefore, I always invest a certain amount of time in studying and pushing myself, and even when I have free time, I don’t use it entirely for myself, but devote it to developing skills and hobbies that will be useful to me in the future. This is because I believe it is better to always have abilities that exceed the conditions given to me.
Life philosophy
No matter what group I belong to, I believe that I must do my best as a member of that group and as someone who represents its image. Just as my parents’ educational philosophy is evaluated based on my behavior, and my friends are judged based on their values, when I join a particular group and work together with others, my actions not only reflect my personal efforts, but also provide an opportunity for others to reevaluate those who belong to the same group as me.
This has served as an excellent restraint, ensuring that I always conduct myself properly in any situation and never lose self-control, behave inappropriately, or act rudely toward others without thinking things through. Even if I was in danger of losing my composure due to personal circumstances, it had the effect of bringing me back to reality in an instant.
Motivation and aspirations
When I was a child, I was a very cautious child because I knew that if I did not behave properly, my parents would be criticized instead of me. I was also well aware of how devoted and diligent my parents were in caring for me, so in order to live up to their efforts, I felt it was necessary to set an example by devoting myself to my studies, which was my duty as a student.
This made me realize that no matter what group I belonged to or what kind of member I was, my behavior could affect the image of the entire group, and that I had to be careful not to give people a bad impression by behaving properly. At first, it was just a child’s pure desire to avoid saying something wrong to my parents, but I am aware that even a few muddy fish in clear water can quickly give the impression that the entire pond is muddy, and I want to always do my best as a representative of your company and as a person who can embody the atmosphere of your company.
