“I finish what I start!”
My special skill is that I finish what I start. This is actually something that happened when I was in college. I was studying business administration, and I heard a lecture by Ahn Cheol-soo that greatly changed my way of thinking. He said that business students and company employees are no different from each other, and that in order to live a proper life, they must read classical works and philosophy, such as Confucius and Mencius, to develop their own thoughts and minds. I was greatly impressed by that lecture, and immediately started a course on the Analects of Confucius at my university. To cut a long story short, only seven people, including myself, completed the course, which started with 500 students. We were all from different departments and of different ages, but the seven of us became best friends. This was because we were the only ones who attended every day and the only ones who did our homework. I have a tendency to finish what I start, and even if I don’t know something or find it difficult, I tend to push through and finish what I’ve started.
Therefore, my strengths are my “drive” and “passion.” I have unflagging drive. Even when I am busy dealing with people and conflicts, I always try to be a person who gives off good energy with my drive and passion. I actually had an experience where I was able to show my drive and passion when I was doing volunteer work. The person in charge of the volunteer work was not doing their job properly, so we couldn’t carry out the volunteer work and didn’t receive any money to cover our expenses. Our job was to help island children find their dreams. Naturally, we felt discouraged because we had no budget and no one to support us. However, I saw this as a challenge. I decided to take on the challenge and see what I could achieve, and I started working. So, even though I was alone, I started making and decorating booths, and I began working enthusiastically, constantly communicating with people. As a result, even though we were a team without a person in charge, we achieved the best results among the volunteer teams, and in recognition of our achievements, we were awarded accommodation and airline tickets to travel to Europe together. Recently, I started attending a public speaking academy. I was confident in my ability to prepare for the certification and exam to become a teller, and I actually obtained the certification with good results. However, the important point was that I had to be able to speak well. I usually take on leadership roles in various activities, and no one has ever told me that I am not good at speaking, but I am always the first to greet people at the bank, and I am the one who has to listen to people and resolve any issues they may have. Therefore, I felt that I needed to speak more professionally and with a pleasant voice and tone. That is why I started attending an elocution school, and I have been going for three months now. There, I am correcting my quick speech and learning to speak in a more serious and thoughtful tone.
