Growth
In high school, I studied music while aiming to enter a music college. I was active as a choir conductor and won the conducting award at the XX City Choir Competition. I was talented at playing the piano, but I broke my right index finger before the entrance exam and was unable to take the practical exam. My family and I, who had been aiming for me to attend a music college, were devastated. Encouraged by my parents, who told me that I shouldn’t just be sad but should focus on something else, I decided to study abroad. At that time, my sister was studying in the US, so I decided to study there without thinking twice. It took some time for my hand to heal, so it was difficult to enroll in a music school there. My sister recommended that I major in business administration. I had never thought about business administration before, but I had no other choice, so I majored in business administration. While studying business administration, I discovered a new interest. I realized that I had been narrow-minded in thinking that I could only go to a music school. I realized that I had a talent for business administration. Marketing, which moves consumers’ hearts, was a particularly fascinating subject. Business administration was like a ray of light for me, who was mired in a sense of loss and frustration.
School days
Completely captivated by business administration, I jumped into online marketing. Five of us who shared the same goal received requests for online marketing and created websites. We started out as part-time jobs because we were students, but the response was surprisingly good. We put together our own portfolio, devised appropriate marketing methods, and analyzed companies’ management styles to suggest improvements, and we were flooded with requests from venture companies. Thanks to that, we were able to analyze the work styles, management goals, and marketing methods of various companies. This became a great asset to me, as it helped me greatly in analyzing the management structures of various companies. It was very exciting to apply what I had learned in real life.
Strengths and weaknesses
I adapt quickly to new environments. I also have excellent situational awareness, which helps me avoid crises. Perhaps because I have lived abroad and experienced many things, when problems arise, I don’t panic, but rather come up with measures to solve them. While studying in the United States, I saw many Korean students struggling to adapt. Whenever that happened, I volunteered to be their “savior.” As a result, my friends often rely on me and say that they feel secure when they are with me. I believe that my ability to deal with situations well is proof of my optimism. When problems arise, I am not easily flustered because I believe that they can be solved. I enjoy spreading happiness to my friends with my positive mindset and optimistic thinking. As you can see, I am an optimist who thinks positively about everything, but I am also a realist who solves problems by coming up with practical solutions. I believe that this personality will be very helpful in resolving unexpected situations that may arise in international trade. However, I think I need to work on my hasty nature. When I am too eager to push forward with a plan, I tend to rush things. This leads to mistakes, and in business management, such mistakes can result in huge losses, so I am working to change my hasty nature. Through meditation, I am trying to calm my mind. Meditation also has the effect of clearing my head. Through these efforts, I will ensure that I do not make any mistakes in my work at your company.
Work experience (or experience that demonstrates your work abilities)
After graduating from college, I returned to South Korea and worked in the management support department at XX Company. I was delighted to be able to combine my favorite subjects, art and management. My job was to help ensure that performances went smoothly. I checked the preparations for performances and arranged for performers. Working in the field for the first time after graduating from college, I was able to grow day by day. I also learned how to build relationships with my colleagues. I realized that forming a strong network with colleagues is one way to increase work efficiency. I would like to apply this knowledge and experience at your company.
Motivation for applying and career goals
I matured greatly after experiencing a setback in high school. I realized that life does not always go as planned, and I learned to accept failure and dream of making a comeback. I also learned that it is good to explore various paths rather than sticking to one direction. I would like to join your company to gain further maturity.
