How can you highlight your strengths in a logistics office self-introduction letter and qualifications?

In this blog post, we will introduce how to effectively include your qualifications in your self-introduction letter when applying for a logistics office position, rather than simply listing them, by connecting them to your practical skills.

Self-introduction

“I am a talented individual who dreams of becoming a logistics specialist.”
I have been working hard with the goal of becoming a logistics specialist. First, as a student of international trade, I have gained knowledge about distribution and logistics. I participated diligently in classes and assignments and actively participated in professors’ projects to improve my skills as a professional. Second, I have obtained the qualifications necessary for office work. I believe that everything that can be learned through study should be prepared for while in college, so I obtained qualifications whenever I had the opportunity to receive good education at school. I obtained a word processor certification necessary for document writing skills, a computer proficiency certification to improve my overall computer skills, and a MOS certification covering Excel and PowerPoint. In addition, in preparation for having to deal with a lot of classical Chinese, I obtained a Level 3 certification in the Chinese Character Proficiency Test. Third, I thought that experience related to logistics was necessary. Although I did not work in an office at a center while attending college, I worked part-time at a logistics center call center and warehouse, where I gained practical experience and worked hard while thinking about what I would do if I were to work there. I am a new employee who dreams of becoming a logistics specialist and is working hard to achieve that goal. I look forward to working with you.

School days

“My own efforts to become a competitive talent!”
I thought that in this day and age, it takes extraordinary effort to become a competitive talent. So, I asked the professor of the first class I took to let me be his teaching assistant. Rumors spread throughout the department that a first-year student had boldly asked a professor for help, but I thought that in order to listen to lectures more attentively, do my assignments, and learn more, I needed to get close to the professor in charge of logistics in our department, who had practical experience. So, I volunteered to be the professor’s teaching assistant and attended his classes for four years. The professor, who had practical experience, sometimes gave different lectures, and sometimes gave the same lecture, but by listening to the lectures repeatedly, I was able to deeply engrave the theory of logistics in my mind. I also thought that I needed to be good at English and classical Chinese. This is because English is essential for working at a center that interacts with foreign countries, and I thought that classical Chinese was also essential since many documents are written in classical Chinese. So, I continued to study English and classical Chinese, which were offered to scholarship students at my school. I was able to raise my level to the point where I could handle both classical Chinese and English at a conversational level.

Strengths and weaknesses

“A team player who thinks of ‘us’ rather than ‘me’”
The strength of my personality is that I am able to think about “us.” I have many qualifications that I have obtained on my own, I have taken many classes and planned many projects, I have had many part-time jobs, and I have received many scholarships, so some people think that I am selfish and only study. However, I am actually very good at teamwork. This is because I have a lively personality and usually laugh a lot, but when I work, I am decisive and show that I can get things done. That is why I showed my strongest abilities in teamwork when I was working part-time and doing assignments. When I was working part-time, if a colleague was struggling, I would go out with them and help them, bringing out the best in the team. When doing assignments, I would clearly tell those who were reluctant to do their work and encourage those who were doing well, leading to good results. I enjoy collaborating with people and am good at it.
My weakness is that I have a strong sense of responsibility, so I tend to take on all the work myself. This sometimes causes health problems. So now, I am determined to keep going, and I am working out regularly and learning how to say no.

Career history (or experience that demonstrates your work skills)

“Gained office work experience through mentoring activities.”
When I was in college, I was very interested in volunteer work. So, I participated in a mentoring program at a middle school affiliated with my university. I was paid an hourly wage that covered transportation expenses and mentored children. I was also appointed as the team leader of the mentoring program. At first, I wanted to do a good job, but the team leader role was quite difficult. This was because I was responsible for handling the expenses incurred between mentors and mentees, collecting receipts, preparing and returning the necessary items for mentoring, and writing reports to submit to the city and school. For about eight months, I led the mentoring team, communicating between the upper and lower levels and resolving misunderstandings that arose from time to time. At first, I didn’t think this job was related to office work, but after I finished, the manager who evaluated me said that if I could do this job, I could work in any organization. At that moment, I realized that if this was office work, I would find it rewarding and be able to do it well. From then on, I dreamed of working in an office, and after I decided to become a logistics specialist, I worked even harder to achieve my dream.

Self-development

“Upgrading my qualifications by obtaining certifications.”
As I mentioned earlier, I thought that I needed to meet all the qualifications required for an office job in order to work. So, throughout my third year of college, I worked hard to improve myself by obtaining certifications. I obtained my word processor certification and computer proficiency certification through online courses offered by my school, without having to attend a private academy. In addition, I thought that I needed to be good at languages to be a trade major, so I studied Korean again and learned foreign languages. As a result, I obtained a Korean language proficiency certificate and scored 900 on the TOEIC test. Through the TOEIC test, I learned how to read well and became able to easily read and process documents written in English. I believe these skills will be useful as a logistics specialist. I am continuing to read English novels to keep my English skills up to date.

Motivation and aspirations

“I want to work for your company, which is expanding globally.”
I dream of becoming a logistics specialist. However, I don’t want to work as a logistics specialist at just any large company. I want to work for a company that is expanding globally. That is why I have dreamed of working for your company ever since I decided to become a logistics specialist. Your company is a growing company that actively exports high-quality products and goods. I have always admired your company’s enterprising spirit. Therefore, joining your company would be like a dream come true for me. I am a sincere person who has been working hard to join your company. I have tried to gain office work experience, prepared myself to be perfect in terms of language skills, and obtained a certificate to prove my proficiency in classical Chinese. I am an enterprising person who has been working hard to join your company. I will show you that I am a sincere and healthy worker. Thank you very much.
