In this blog post, we will introduce specific examples of how to convincingly express a responsible attitude in a self-introduction letter when applying for a purchasing or materials position.
Growth
“Even if you know the way, ask for directions.”
I grew up in a large family. My parents did not spoil me just because I was a girl, and they were very strict about manners. So, I naturally learned to respect my elders, give them the best food first, and always consider their feelings first, even when I wanted to express my opinion. I was raised to believe that it was only right to serve my elders, and that it was a matter of courtesy. I didn’t realize it when I was young, but as I grew up, I came to appreciate the education I received from my parents. This was especially helpful when I had to work with others. When working with people or giving presentations, I am good at coordinating opinions and listening to others rather than just pushing my own ideas, so I think my ability to integrate different ideas works well in the process of convergence. In addition, I was raised to value humility, so I ask questions even when I know something, and I was taught not to make assumptions based on what I know and not to ignore what others say. Therefore, I listen humbly to what others say, even if I already know it, and I try to check if there is anything I don’t understand. As a result, even though I have many peers, older people often show affection toward me.
Strengths and weaknesses
“Sociable and quick to adapt”
The best thing about my personality is that I am sociable. I am also someone who can adapt quickly to situations. I am particularly adaptable and can quickly adjust to any person or situation. My family was not well off, so I had many part-time jobs, but even when I had a difficult boss, I was able to adapt well. The most difficult boss I had was a manager at a concert hall who hated me for no reason. At the time, there were many new employees who were late or absent, but he would scold me without saying anything to them. People around me said that he was picking on me because I seemed easy to bully, but I thought I had to obey my boss’s orders. I listened to him carefully and did my best, and eventually he recognized my efforts. Perhaps he liked my attitude of wanting to learn from my seniors, and eventually he stopped scolding me, and we were able to reconcile and get along well. I am also someone who adapts quickly to new situations. I am a good listener and open-minded, so I am able to quickly absorb knowledge and group culture. That is why I have always gotten along well with people everywhere I have worked.
Major and reason for choosing it
“Reason for choosing Food and Nutrition”
I chose Food and Nutrition because it was the department I thought was most important. When I was young, I learned from the adults around me that meals are very important. Watching them, I realized that eating a balanced diet is very important in order to avoid suffering. So, I decided to study for myself and for others, and to use that knowledge to create good products. That is why I chose to study food and nutrition. Once I started studying, I became even more interested in the synergistic effects that occur when different food groups interact, which was much more diverse than I had expected. Through my major, I studied the physiological functions of the human body and researched how individuals can live healthy lives and what products are needed for people with illnesses. I also began to think about how I could contribute to an advanced industrial information society that goes beyond simply maintaining health to preventing disease and promoting health. I am very proud to have graduated from this department. I can say that I studied diligently to earn that pride.
Extracurricular Activities
“Understanding consumers through the Hanwoo Experience Group.”
I was selected for the Hanwoo Experience Group and participated in a week-long program. I flew to the home of Hanwoo beef, visited a Hanwoo farm, and learned how to enjoy different cuts of Hanwoo beef, how to care for Hanwoo cattle, and how to cook them. The most enjoyable part of the program was meeting people who love Hanwoo beef. I thought I ate Hanwoo because it was nutritious and delicious, but I found that people had very different reasons for eating Hanwoo. Some people said they ate it because it looked pretty, some said they ate it because it sounded good, some said they didn’t eat pork because it was dangerous, and many people said they only ate beef because of their constitution. I had studied food and nutrition, so I thought that understanding food was everything, but I realized that there are many people in the world with different tastes, and that my understanding of food was limited. Through this experience, I met many different consumers and gained an understanding of their diverse perspectives, which gave me an opportunity to think about food in a new way.
Career
“The most important thing is what goes into your mouth.”
As I mentioned above, I think the most important thing is what goes into your mouth. People focus on various values, but I think it is important to focus on what goes into your mouth, especially in today’s diverse society, where we have to adapt to various situations. That is why I think my job is similar to that of a doctor, and I promise to take responsibility and be faithful to my work. Therefore, I will be a person who calmly carries out my duties with a sense of importance, constantly strives for improvement, and works diligently to understand consumer markets and trends. Thank you very much.
Reason for applying and aspirations
“I want to join Sajo Haepyo as it advances onto the international stage!”
Sajo Haepyo and Sajo Daelim are companies that are raising Korea’s international profile. The export volume, which is hard to believe for a small country, and the strong customer loyalty show how meticulously Sajo Haepyo and Sajo Daelim prepare everything. If I am fortunate enough to become an employee of this company, I will first strive to be a responsible person. I will remember that my work is more important than anyone else’s, and I will take responsibility for everything I do. Second, I will strive to improve myself. I am currently only proficient in English and Japanese, but I will learn Chinese with the aim of entering the Chinese market, and I will constantly strive to understand various consumer trends. Third, I will be humble and eager to learn. There is a saying that if you listen to the words of your elders, you will learn something even in your sleep. Keeping this saying in mind, I will always respect my seniors as adults, listen to their words, and work humbly. Thank you very much.
