As the youngest child born late in my parents’ marriage, I grew up receiving all of my family’s love. As the youngest of five siblings, I grew up with both masculine and feminine traits, which allowed me to form friendships and expand my network without being bound by gender stereotypes. I think I inherited my mother’s cheerfulness the most. My mother has a cheerful and lively personality and had many gatherings with her neighbors. She has been volunteering for ten years, preparing side dishes for elderly people who live alone. During the winter kimchi-making season, she actively participates in making kimchi and sharing it with her neighbors. Influenced by my mother’s cheerful and caring nature, I have had many opportunities to participate in volunteer activities, and I believe that this has helped me grow into a warm-hearted person. At my mother’s suggestion, my whole family started volunteering a few years ago. My parents are grateful for everything and never overlook even the smallest things. School days

I have experience participating in the “○○○○○” competition. It is a competition for students interested in international social issues, and I was able to broaden my thinking and realize the importance of teamwork through conversations with my friends who participated. During the week-long competition, teams were formed on the first day, and I was not very happy with my team. First, we had two fewer members than the other teams, and all of my teammates were younger than me. After being selected as the leader, I decided that I had to overcome our disadvantage, so I put all my energy into preparing for the presentation with my younger teammates. During the midterm presentation, we were evaluated as being no different from the other teams. With half of the preparation already done, it was a difficult decision to start over from scratch, but I convinced my teammates. I wanted to do well since we had already started. I felt that my attitude as a leader was not accepting enough of my teammates’ ideas. I realized that my tendency to prioritize my own opinions because I was younger resulted in ideas that were no different from those of other teams, so I focused on gathering ideas from my teammates. Instead of unilaterally assigning tasks to each team member and making them responsible, I tried to listen to everyone’s ideas and accept them. The progress was slow, but many new ideas emerged. In the end, our team received the highest evaluation in the competition. We were evaluated as having easily solved the problem based on fresh ideas. This experience made me deeply realize the importance of teamwork and gave me an opportunity to rethink what role I should play as a leader to achieve such teamwork. I will actively contribute to creating an atmosphere where everyone can work toward a single goal with leadership that brings together the strengths of all.

 

Strengths and weaknesses

People often tell me that I am sociable and likable. I think this personality trait comes largely from my mother. She is always cheerful and pleasant, and she is always surrounded by people. This personality trait has allowed me to form many friendships, and I consider these relationships to be my greatest asset in life. I strive to maintain relationships with people I have formed bonds with in any way I can. I keep in touch with people I meet through external competitions and club activities, even online, and I am the one who reaches out to them first. I enjoy meeting new people, and I believe that by actively reaching out to others, I can maintain good relationships with them. Thanks to this personality, I have never had any conflicts with those around me. I have always been able to maintain good relationships and accept everyone’s opinions by taking a relativistic stance.
My calm and cautious personality is another strength. Although I am sociable, I am calm and cautious when it comes to work. I strive to keep my personal life separate from my work so that my emotions do not interfere with my work. I worked in the general affairs team at XX Group. The general affairs team is involved in all aspects of management. This is because it provides support necessary for corporate management through close cooperation with each department. I was in charge of human resources management within the general affairs team, and through my work of assigning personnel to each department and hiring new employees, I realized that personality is as important as ability. This is because I learned that ability does not guarantee personality. Even if you are highly capable, you cannot demonstrate your abilities if you do not get along with your colleagues. Realizing this, I helped new employees adapt to their work even after they were hired. Everyone goes through an adjustment period when they start a new job, and I wanted to help them adapt more quickly so that they could blend in with the atmosphere of their department.
