How should you express your communication skills in a sales self-introduction letter?

In this blog post, we will introduce tips on how to sincerely convey your communication skills, which are important in sales, in your self-introduction letter and how to effectively describe your customer service experience.

Growth

Like most parents, I know that my parents did their best for me. My father, who loves sports, and my mother, who is very thoughtful, always tried to help me grow up well. My father is very interested in baseball, even coaching an amateur baseball team, and he enjoys not only baseball but sports in general. He even prepared the uniform of his favorite baseball team before I was born. I had no choice but to become a fan of the baseball team my father supported. My father took me to baseball practice even when I was too weak to hold a bat. However, I was not so much interested in baseball as I enjoyed spending time with my father. Exercising with my father not only helped me build physical strength, but also gave me a strong spirit. I think exercise gave me a competitive spirit and a desire to win. My tendency to enjoy friendly competition seems to have been formed during this period of growth. My parents also helped me develop a free-spirited personality. Once I had developed some discernment, they allowed me to make most of my own decisions. It wasn’t that they left everything up to me, but I think it was their way of giving me time to think about my future. As a result, I was able to develop the ability to make more careful decisions and a sense of responsibility for my work. I learned to think carefully so that my decisions would not lead to wrong results, and I became committed to doing my best to ensure that my decisions would lead to success.

School days

I played sports with my father, so I was confident in most sports. I even considered pursuing a career in baseball, and decided to major in physical education, but I realized that I wasn’t particularly good at any one sport. I enjoyed all sports, but I wasn’t particularly good at any, so after much consideration, I decided to major in sports management, which suited my personality. I was able to acquire specialized knowledge by studying sports and management together. After entering university, I worked hard at part-time jobs. I wanted to relieve my parents’ financial burden by becoming financially independent. My first part-time job was at a coffee shop. It was a cafe near my school, and I knew many people there, so I thought I could get some help and get to know many people. While working there, I often saw students bringing their laptops to do their assignments. My top priority at my part-time job was service. This is because friendly service is what all customers want. I made sure that customers did not experience the same inconveniences that I had felt when I went to cafes, and I was able to secure regular customers by actively applying the strengths that I had noticed. Even though I was just a part-time worker, the manager trusted me because I worked hard and was proactive. I think I was able to achieve this result because I worked with the mindset that I was running the business, rather than just thinking of it as a means to earn money. On weekends, I worked part-time at a gym. The manager, who had known me for many years, gave me the opportunity to work part-time. I was in charge of member management. I was able to build relationships with members by kindly showing first-time members how to use the equipment. I think my part-time job experience in college was very helpful in becoming a salesperson with a strong sense of service.

Strengths and weaknesses

I think I became outgoing and proactive because I followed my father’s example of enjoying exercise and being assertive. This personality has allowed me to build friendships with others through exercise. Even when I am stressed, exercising and working up a sweat makes me feel refreshed and like the stress of the day has melted away. Not only in sports, but I am also active and enthusiastic in everything I do. When working on team projects in college, I made an effort to get to know my teammates and conduct field research, rather than just staying in the library looking for information. As a result, I was able to obtain vivid information from professors and received many compliments on the originality of my work. I went out into the streets to conduct interviews and surveys, met with experts to hear their stories, and used that information in my presentation, which was well received by my classmates. The hard work I put into the project paid off in the end. I also received praise for my proactive attitude toward customers when I worked part-time. I believe that these results were possible because I was able to fully express my personality.

Work experience (or experience that demonstrates your work abilities)

During college, I worked part-time at a café and a gym. Rather than just working to earn money, I tried to enjoy my work, and I believe that treating customers as if I were the manager helped me gain regular customers and earn the trust of my boss. I decided to do my best at anything I had to spend time on, and I strived to provide friendly service because I believed that excellent service is something that all customers want. I believe that my part-time job experience helped me improve my service skills. Before graduating from college, I worked as an intern at an outdoor sports store. I was very interested in sports, so I thought it would be a good fit for me. After joining the company, I analyzed information about the products we sold. By categorizing products into those suitable for beginners and advanced users, I was able to provide customized services to customers. Providing the latest information and customized services to customers became word of mouth, and I was able to secure many regular customers.

Motivation for applying and aspirations

Barack Obama once said, “Focusing on making money is a sign of poverty of ambition. It means you are demanding too little of yourself. It is only when you have ambition and strive for something greater that you can realize your true potential.”
People have a stereotype that salespeople do their jobs to make a lot of money. However, the reason I applied for a sales position is to live a better life through communication with people through sales. Sales is not just about selling products. I believe it is a more productive activity that allows us to maintain better relationships and achieve mutual prosperity through the services provided with the products. That is why I love sales and believe it is the perfect job for me. I will do my best to become a person who achieves the best results through my best efforts. With my active and energetic personality, I will strive to energize customers who visit the store and my colleagues who work with me.
