In this blog post, we will show you how to naturally express your sincere motivation for applying to a ski equipment company in your cover letter based on your interest in sports and product experience.
Growth
Being able to focus on your studies means that you have the ability to concentrate on any task and complete it neatly. Since I was young, I have learned systematic study methods step by step, and I believe that these skills have become the foundation for everything I do. My parents are high school English teachers. Because of this, people around me think that I must have studied English from an early age, but I never studied English intensively. Rather, my parents emphasized the importance of our native language and taught me Korean intensively, saying that there was no point in learning English when I didn’t even know my own language properly. My mother, in particular, always emphasized the importance of reading. When I was young, my room was filled with bookshelves. My mother made me write down my thoughts after reading a book, and we would discuss the book together. Through this process of sharing our opinions, I was able to develop the ability to think about things I hadn’t thought of while reading. Before I entered high school, my mother filled my bookshelves with English books. I read English books, wrote down my thoughts, and shared my opinions in English. Through reading, writing, and speaking, I was able to improve my English skills naturally. My mother did not make me do too much at once. She decided how much I could do and guided me to the next step when she thought I had mastered everything. I think this educational policy had a big impact on my attitude toward life. When making plans, I do not get overly ambitious, but rather take things step by step. I don’t rush to get things done, so I don’t get overwhelmed by my workload and can do everything I’m asked to do perfectly. My parents’ approach to education not only influenced my attitude toward life, but also laid the foundation for my creative and logical thinking.
School days
From the time I entered elementary school, I had the ability to sit in one place and concentrate. My teachers thought highly of me and often asked me to help them with their work. Even in middle school, I was often asked to do things because I always did my work neatly and thoroughly. In high school, my proactive nature led me to become a class representative and then student council president. When I entered university, I worked hard to broaden my knowledge. Following the advice of my seniors that “there is no better teacher than experience,” I developed myself through various experiences. As a first step, I joined a humanities research club at my university. There, we read classical literature, exchanged opinions, and thought about current social issues from a humanities perspective. When I became the president of the research club in my third year, I thought it would be nice to share these wonderful experiences with other young people, so I submitted a proposal to a youth training center, and under the leadership of our humanities research club, we held a humanities camp with other students. Next, I broadened my horizons through travel. During my summer vacation in my first year, I planned a trip across the country and visited various places in Korea. Famous tourist attractions that often appear on TV were great, but there were so many other places with beautiful scenery. Through my travels, I was able to meet many people and feel their humanity as I chatted with strangers without feeling awkward. Finally, I also participated in many volunteer activities. I always believe that I am not where I am today through my own efforts alone, but with the help of society. That is why I believe that I must give back to others the love I have received. I have been actively involved in volunteer activities, such as providing free meals to the homeless and disaster relief. I will continue to help others whenever I can.
Strengths and weaknesses
I tend to think that I am selfish because I am academically gifted and appear to be intelligent, but I am actually very warm-hearted. I am highly sensitive and have a strong ability to empathize with others. Thanks to this personality trait, I have often been asked to give advice to my friends. Through the process of listening to my friends’ worries and difficulties, I realized what true counseling is. It is simply listening to their concerns. I realized that just by listening, and just by allowing someone to talk, their worries can be resolved to a certain extent, so I tend to listen to others rather than talk about myself.
However, if I had to name a weakness, it would be that I have a hard time saying no to people. I value relationships with others and find it difficult to refuse requests. However, I have come to realize that refusing requests that I cannot fulfill is not helpful to either party. Therefore, I politely decline requests that I cannot fulfill. Even if it may hurt the other person’s feelings at first, it will help maintain the relationship in the long run.
Work experience (or experience that demonstrates your work abilities)
My first job after graduation was as a secretary at a distribution company. I think it was a great opportunity to put the knowledge I learned in college to practical use. It was also a time when I was able to experience the responsibilities and leadership of a manager and get a feel for the company culture. While working as a secretary there, I realized that I needed to be proficient with computers in order to work more efficiently. So, after work, I sat in front of my computer and worked hard to improve my document processing skills. I always believed that I must not be lazy or complacent when it comes to developing my skills, so I worked very hard. Currently, I am proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and I do my best to support my manager.
Motivation for applying and aspirations
Muhammad Ali said, “I fear challenges because I lack confidence, but I believe in myself.” I believe in my abilities. I know how to communicate with others warmly, so I can understand my superiors better than anyone else. In addition, I have all the skills necessary for basic tasks, and I am willing to take the time to learn whatever else I need to know. That is why I decided to apply for a position at your company, even though it is my first job, to assist the person in charge of manufacturing ski equipment. I was impressed by the ethical management philosophy of ○○ Corporation, which practices ethical management to create a happy future. I felt that I could work at a place like this and give my all. In addition, I was very satisfied when I actually used the products produced based on this philosophy, and I have a very good impression of your company’s image among customers.
If you hire me, I will approach my work with the same attitude of learning through experience that I have always had. If I am given the opportunity to work for your company, which emphasizes fairness and transparency in order to become a trusted company, I will work hard to live up to your excellent image.
