In this blog post, we will go beyond simply listing foreign language qualifications and introduce ways to naturally incorporate foreign language skills into overseas sales self-introduction letters, focusing on practical experience and communication skills.
Growth
When I was a child, I often visited my father’s printing company. My father wanted me to work in a nice office, so he always told me to go home and study, but I loved the sound of the printing machines and the smell of fresh ink, so I ignored him and stayed there as long as I could. It was because the sight of the machines constantly running and spitting out paper to make books, just like in a science fiction movie, made my heart race. I would sneak a book or two away from my father and read them, so it was only natural that I read a lot of books from an early age and boasted of my extensive reading.
When the countless books that had passed through my father’s hands were neatly arranged on the shelves of bookstores and libraries, waiting for their owners, it seemed as if dense dandelion spores were spreading throughout the world, each finding its own place to settle. When I think back to the warmth and smell of the freshly printed paper and the heat emanating from my father’s forehead as he busily worked, I imagine the books from our printing company being scattered around the world, carrying that warmth with them to their new owners. And I, too, cherished and loved those books that were born somewhere like that, and read them with passion. When people talk about books, they often focus only on the contents and illustrations, without thinking much about how the book was made. But I was able to grow up watching the process up close, closer than anyone else.
School life
Growing up with my father’s printing shop as my playground, I became actively involved in the school library. However, rather than simply reading countless books and absorbing their contents, I had a habit of examining the appearance, design, material, and print quality of each book, making their appearance one of my interests. Therefore, when I saw signs that a book had been carelessly damaged, I felt a pang of sadness, and I tried my best to preserve the book in its original state so that it could be used properly. I also made sure that it was not moved to a place where it would be overlooked. I believed that there was nothing sadder than something being discarded without fulfilling its original purpose.
This had a profound influence on me when I began to seriously consider my career path, and I thought carefully about which direction to take my interests and vision. Just as the title and content of a book are decided before it is completed, and its classification and purpose are determined, I felt that my current choices would determine my future. Of course, I could go back, but I felt that it would be a tedious task, like rewriting a title that had already been written in pen, so I immersed myself in deep thought in order to make a more careful and clear choice. Thinking about the history of humanity’s creation of writing and the development of recorded culture, I came to hope that I too could become a talented person who could take on that work and contribute to its advancement.
Strengths and weaknesses
I am a person who does not sway easily by the opinions of others and follows the path I believe to be right. This is because I believe that no one can live your life for you, and no matter how much you are influenced by the standards and norms of society, you will only find satisfaction when you pursue what you truly want. My father, who ran a printing company for his entire life, wanted me to work in an office position rather than taking on a hands-on role in the field. However, growing up watching my father work hard, I came to appreciate the beauty of labor, and I was fascinated by the appeal of a sales position, where I could interact directly with people in the field and achieve results through negotiation.
This means that I value my own voice more than the voices of others, and I have often been told that this could lead me astray, even from advice that is meant to guide me in the right direction. However, rather than unconditionally putting forward my own opinions and acting dogmatically, I have reached my current position by constantly comparing and reviewing whether there are realistic grounds that are consistent with the standards that currently motivate me, and by never forgetting to reflect on how I can find ways to improve.
Values
I believe that we should live our lives with gratitude for the many basic elements that make up our lives. Just as we rarely realize how grateful we are for the air we breathe every day, we are not always aware of the various things that are necessary to sustain our daily lives. Without them, our lives would be inconvenient and difficult, but we take them for granted and have never experienced the difficulties of living without them.
However, even if we do not feel grateful for them every moment, I believe we should always remember that many people’s efforts make it possible for us to live our daily lives. This is because if even one element, such as basic office supplies, paper, or ink, which are necessary for work, is missing, work will not run smoothly, and it will be difficult to obtain them urgently.
Motivation for applying and aspirations after joining the company
Most of my childhood memories are of visiting my father’s printing shop and watching countless books being printed and bound. The mass production of letters and writing has been around since the introduction of printing, and although we now take it for granted that we read “unprinted” text on computer monitors and e-books, the sight of countless sheets of paper covered in fresh ink and coming off the press is still a part of everyday life.
Your company is a major player in the printing ink market, with unchanging quality and durability despite the passage of time, and although it is said that the printing market will soon disappear, it continues to play an active role in the industry. This reminds me of my father’s printing company and stirs up a sense of nostalgia, which is why I decided to apply for a position at your company. I am constantly faced with the prospect of disappearing, but I promise to play an active role in contributing to your company as a talented individual who will play a key role in the printing market, which is still demonstrating its unchanging strength.
