Growth

“From a problem child to a model student and filial son”
When I was in school, I was a student who engaged in many behaviors commonly associated with problem children. I started smoking in high school, came home late at night, drank alcohol with my club friends, and caused trouble at school. My behavior was not very serious, but my parents were called to school because of minor issues. I became labeled as a problem child at school, and I thought that I would never be able to lead a normal school life throughout high school. In my first year, I started smoking because my friends were doing it, but later on, it became difficult to quit and change my behavior. Then, when I was in my third year of high school, I finally came to my senses and decided to become a model student.
It was thanks to my homeroom teacher that I suddenly decided to turn from a problem child into a model student. My young homeroom teacher, who had just been transferred from another school, had no preconceived notions about me. Instead, he favored me over the other students and showed me a lot of affection. He always told me that I was a “cute friend” and that I would be loved wherever I went if I got a job at a company. At first, I wondered what was so cute about me, but later, I started acting cute to live up to his expectations. I suddenly became a hard worker, gradually quit smoking, and found myself preparing for college entrance exams. In the end, I was accepted into college and majored in consumer studies, and I still consider my homeroom teacher to be my mentor.

School days

“Starting work in the service industry”
I was accepted into a prestigious university in Seoul and majored in consumer studies. I decided to major in consumer studies because I had a part-time job at a gas station when I was in high school. It was the only part-time job I could get as a high school student, but while working at the gas station, I met many different types of customers and had conversations with them. Through my interactions with customers, I realized that it was important for employees to understand the minds of consumers. Usually, people just do what they are told and complain about their salary, but I was passionate about my work and always thought about how I could improve. That’s why the gas station owner liked me so much and entrusted me with important tasks, including customer service. This experience led me to major in consumer studies in college, where I learned in detail about customer needs and customer service.
With the mindset that I had to apply what I learned, I started working in the service industry. When I was in high school, I just worked without knowing anything, but now I had a different mindset. So, when I was in college, I started working at a large mall and department store. At the mall, I started as a parking attendant. After working there for six months, I transferred to the customer service center. Six months later, I was assigned to a cultural center located inside the department store, where I welcomed students and provided them with timetables and class information. I took on such a variety of tasks because I wanted to experience different things. My supervisor saw how I worked and recommended me to other departments, saying that I was a reliable and dependable worker, so I became very popular within the department store. While studying consumer studies, I spent my college days working part-time with enthusiasm, based on my understanding of consumers.

Work experience

“Working at a department store customer service center.”
What I liked most about working at a department store was working at the customer service center. It was the only job where I could communicate directly with customers and think about ways to improve the services offered by the department store and mall. There are many different types of jobs at department stores and supermarkets, such as parking attendants, cashiers, and logistics managers, but not many of them allow you to communicate directly with customers and hear their opinions. At the customer service center, I was in charge of lost and found, cash register corrections, event management, and price comparison and settlement. I saw almost every situation that could happen in a department store with my own eyes and dealt with customers who were facing those situations face-to-face.
Working at the service center, I learned what customers really want. The first thing is kindness, and the second is kindness. In fact, when holding events, many customers look for cheap items or sale items. When settling discounts, I often found that customers preferred items that were cheaper than those at other supermarkets. However, I realized that customers who visit large malls do not simply look for cheap, high-quality products, but also prioritize kindness. In fact, cheap products can be found in traditional markets and can also be ordered online. However, I realized that the act of coming to the supermarket and interacting with the staff is meaningful in itself, as it allows customers to enjoy a pleasant shopping experience through kindness. Therefore, I decided not to view service work as emotional labor, but to become an employee who can provide kindness to customers, and I worked with that mindset and achieved high attendance.

Strengths and weaknesses

“I prefer to be accurate and quick.”
In a nutshell, I am an “accurate person.” I am very precise, logical, and I like things to be clear. My personality really comes out when I am speaking or giving presentations. Of course, when I am talking one-on-one with colleagues, I make sure to establish a clear relationship and express myself accurately. However, this aspect is even more apparent when I give presentations, as I am able to summarize accurately and explain the summarized content precisely. The reason I am able to give such accurate explanations is because I have an accurate personality. For example, while preparing for a career in CS, I received training as an instructor. Service instructors often need to express themselves clearly to their students. Therefore, while preparing for classes, I practiced expressing myself accurately.
I always think of my audience as middle or high school students, and I try to explain things clearly and concisely. I believe that there is no more effective attitude than explaining things clearly and responding quickly, regardless of the relationship with the other person. Sometimes speed is important. If you speak too fast, the listener will not understand you well, but I think it is important to be quick in your attitude. What I mean by this is that when giving a presentation, there may be aggressive questioners, and in such cases, it is important to be quick-witted and able to think on your feet. Therefore, in order to be quick-witted, I listen carefully to the person I am talking to or the audience, and try to respond with quick judgment. If I have any weaknesses, it is that I tend to think too much and am a little indecisive, but these traits do not come out at work because it is a professional environment.

Motivation for applying and aspirations

“I will work with a high level of loyalty to the organization.”
As a professional recruitment company that hires talent and provides recruitment information, your company’s services are used by many recruiters and job seekers in Korea. I applied for a position as an instructor at the CS Center. I received training as a CS service instructor before graduating from college, so I have a good understanding of what it means to work at your company’s CS Center. In addition to my training, I also have experience working as a freelance CS instructor. As a freelance instructor, I was dispatched to various companies and taught classes at a high level. I paid close attention to the quality and quantity of my classes, and I would say that I have about two years of experience. In addition, I have experience working as a customer center manager at a department store. I will utilize this experience to work as a professional instructor at your company. When working as a freelancer, I was concerned about my personal income, but as an employee of your company, I will strive to show high loyalty.
