How to highlight profit-oriented management and inventory management in your self-introduction letter?

In this blog post, we will introduce how to effectively convey your practical skills in your self-introduction letter, going beyond simply recording and organizing inventory to include cost reduction and profit management.

Growth

“A solid foundation built on my religious beliefs”
I have been religious since I was in middle school. I was baptized while attending church and spent my school days with friends who also attended the same church. Religion has taught me lessons about life, and God has been my spiritual pillar. Believing in God gave me a will and attachment to life, and I was able to live a disciplined life even during my school days. In fact, when I was young, I was often tempted by my friends at school, and because I had no standards for judging right and wrong, I sometimes made mistakes.
For example, I would steal money from my friends just because I wanted to eat something, or I would be exposed to smoking and drinking without any protection. However, I was able to resist all these temptations and spend my school days in a healthy manner. I believe that it is all thanks to religion that I was able to keep my mind clear and live a righteous life. I went to church every weekend to attend mass and listen to the sermons of the priest who baptized me, which helped me to organize my thoughts and feelings. In particular, listening to the sermons allowed me to hear testimonies from people active in various fields of society, which strengthened my faith in God and made me realize the existence of God within me.
Above all, religion can be said to strengthen one’s inner self by guiding a person’s life in the right direction. In order to study technology, I studied hard for the college entrance exam when I was in high school, made a career plan, and prepared for the exam to achieve my goal. During that process, whenever I felt discouraged and wanted to stray from my path, I overcame those feelings with the help of religion. Whenever I lost sight of my goal of learning electronics and automotive technology and became confused about my career path, I consulted with my close pastor about my future, which helped me clarify my path. Whenever I felt anxious about the future, I kept my pastor’s advice in mind and overcame my difficulties, and I was finally able to enroll in a technical engineering program.

Strengths and weaknesses

“Flexible thinking and an open mind”
A solid tree is shaken by strong winds, but flexible grass sways from side to side and does not break. I believe that flexible thinking is equally important. No matter how firm your principles are or how consistently you act according to your standards, if you are unable to adapt to changing circumstances, you will eventually face difficulties. Principles always have exceptions, and only those who recognize these exceptions can truly understand the rules. That is why, even when I was an executive or representative, I did not try to run the organization strictly according to principles when applying them.
For example, when I was in college, I was the secretary of a club. I was in charge of collecting membership fees from club members and managing large sums of money. Since I was managing money, it was not easy to record every single amount and keep separate bank accounts. Not only did it require a lot of attention, but I also felt stressed because things did not always go according to plan. If we planned an event or workshop within the club, it was the rule that all members had to pay their dues. However, if someone said they would not attend, I had to collect a no-show fee, which was the rule for running the organization. In order to collect all the no-show fees, I had to gather everyone’s opinions and contact them individually to resolve any issues, which meant double the work. So, while still emphasizing the importance of principles, I changed the rules to reduce the percentage of the no-show fee and minimize the participation fee in order to ensure that the event ran smoothly. By changing the rules in this way, we were able to increase the number of participants and minimize complaints about the event.
I also kept thorough records and provided them to any club members who had questions about the budget. I wanted people to recognize how hard I was working, but I also thought that since they were paying their own money to participate in the event, they would want to know how it was being run. So, whenever there was a request, I did my best to be flexible in providing details and posting announcements on the online community to avoid misunderstandings. As a result, I was recognized for my flexibility in enforcing the rules and for being a general affairs manager who was flexible in exceptional circumstances.

Social experience

“Experience working at a regular store”
While attending university, I mainly worked at a café near my school. At first, I was just a part-time worker, serving customers and preparing food and drinks. I memorized various drink recipes, made the drinks, took orders, and served customers. I ended up working at the same café for more than six months, and I got along well with the branch manager, so I was soon assigned other tasks. I developed recipes and conducted market research in the surrounding area. I also planned and implemented events necessary for the operation of the store.
In addition, when new part-time students joined the company, I was responsible for training them on their duties and reporting the results to the branch manager. As the number of part-time employees increased, my management duties became more demanding. My month’s work was complete when I had finished recording everyone’s shift times and work assignments and calculating and distributing their salaries at the end of the month. I was paid about twice as much as other employees because I did more basic work than them and took on many other tasks. I was able to pay my tuition with the money I earned, which shows that my work performance was highly regarded.
At the same time, I managed the overall operation of the store, and when the branch manager was absent, I was able to fill in for him. Every morning, I came in early to manage the supplies, check the ingredients for drinks and menu items, check the inventory, and place new orders. I was especially careful when managing the inventory. No matter how high the sales were, there was still the cost of raw materials, and if you subtracted that, the net profit would be lower, so I realized that inventory management was directly linked to the store’s profits. Therefore, when checking inventory and placing new orders, I tried to check every single item carefully, and as a result, I was able to work with a sense of ownership toward the café and earn the recognition of those around me.

Reason for joining the company and aspirations

“I will work as an inventory management specialist at your company.”
After graduating from college, I considered several places to work and looked for companies I wanted to apply to. I was studying for employment with my friends, so I was able to analyze my job options in depth. Among them, I ranked Shinsei Delta Tech as my top priority. Finally, I decided to apply to three companies, and yours was one of them. The reason is that I can utilize my major and work in the electronics, automotive, and display industries. I majored in engineering. I have accumulated a lot of knowledge in this field, and I am ready to work as an inventory management specialist based on that knowledge.
I am particularly aware of the importance of inventory assets and raw material management. Inventory asset management is actually a job requirement at other companies as well, even if they are not in the engineering or industrial fields. However, the reason I applied to your company is because I can apply the knowledge and skills I learned in engineering to improve work efficiency. If I am accepted and start working as a new employee at your company, it will take time to become an expert in inventory management. This is because, as a new employee, I have knowledge but lack practical knowledge related to actual work. However, I am confident that I will grow faster than anyone else in my work because I already have the necessary knowledge. Please trust me and give me this opportunity.
