How to include technical career goals in a DBA cover letter

In this blog post, we will look at how applicants who have set technical career goals can incorporate those goals into their Oracle DBA cover letters in a concrete and convincing manner.

Growth

As a child, I was a keen observer who could quickly discern the essence and differences between things. I excelled at games that required quick thinking, such as hidden picture puzzles, spot the difference puzzles, and other brain teasers, where I had to come up with answers in a short amount of time. Rather than running around outside, I enjoyed concentrating intensely until my head hurt, and I really enjoyed the journey of working toward the answer. Although I was very different from my brother, who was a typical physical type, I sincerely enjoyed and devoted myself to the studies that my brother found difficult, and we both had opposite talents and a passion for moving forward toward our future. My parents did not favor either of us, but treated us equally and recognized each other’s strengths, helping us to compete with each other on an equal footing.
Sometimes, we didn’t just stick to our own strengths, but helped each other with schoolwork and other responsibilities, so that we could take pride in our own areas of expertise and generously lend a helping hand to each other. Whenever my friends teased me for being a “coward” because I didn’t like to go out and often stayed home reading books, my brother encouraged me not to listen to their prejudices and to focus on my own strengths. He told me that everyone has their own talents and that there is no reason to let others interfere. I was greatly encouraged by my brother’s kind words, and I spent my life actively searching for areas where I could excel and devote myself to them.

School life

I always ranked at the top of my class and earned the trust of my teachers, establishing my position within the school. I was the type of person who enjoyed focusing on my own world and achieving outstanding results, so I wasn’t very good at actively approaching other children or promoting myself, but I wasn’t so closed off or gloomy that I rejected friends who approached me. Although I was plagued by prejudices and rumors that I was a model student, the friends who approached me were impressed by my personality, saying that I was “not as boring as I seemed.” I was also the type of person who was masculine and decisive, and knew how to take action on my own. At the same time, I spared no effort in devoting sufficient time and energy to the areas in which I excelled.
And I also had a strong desire to make a strong impression on the kids who thought I was a boring model student and took me lightly. I knew that the most effective way to deal with them was not to show direct hostility or resentment, but to use their energy as a driving force for my own development. So, rather than causing problems in my personal life or trying to fight with the kids directly, I wanted to fulfill my duties as a member of society, make my presence known, and show the world the potential I had been harboring. I knew that this was the best way to counter those children without starting a chain of revenge, and that it would ultimately be much better for me as an adult.

Personality

Rather than trying too hard to excel at things I’m not good at, I tend to think more about what I can do using my strengths. Growing up with my brother, who was exceptionally talented in sports, I realized early on that I could never match his natural abilities, no matter how hard I tried. I struggled with this obvious sense of defeat for a while, but thanks to my parents, who taught me that my brother and I simply had different goals and that we should strive to be the best in the areas we were truly passionate about and good at, I was able to take pride in my abilities and not try to fill my ego. A sparrow must make use of its small size and natural agility; if it tries to keep up with the long strides of a stork, it will only tear its legs.
Of course, my heart was not always calm like a still pond, and I often felt frustrated when I realized that I was falling behind others and could not achieve as much as they could. However, I did not allow myself to be overwhelmed by despair. Instead, I reminded myself of my abilities and reawakened my desire to forge my own path.

Outlook on life

I want to live a life where I can go out into society with pride in myself. Today, we place the utmost importance on humility, believing that “the riper the rice, the lower it bows,” and we live in a world where we are taught to put the brakes on ourselves, thinking that “there are many people in the world who are better than me,” rather than being proud of our abilities and having self-confidence. Excessive pride inevitably causes harm and alienates people, but moderate satisfaction and self-confidence serve as the foundation for self-esteem.
Since we cannot be completely certain about the potential of other people in this world, we cannot think that we are superior to everyone else, but I believe that it is worthwhile to enjoy the realization that “I have achieved this much in my field of expertise and proven my abilities” and the satisfaction that comes with it. No matter how high you climb, if you have to keep bowing your head in anticipation of someone higher, then all your efforts to improve yourself will be diminished.

Motivation and aspirations

When I was young, I realized that I had different talents from my brother, who was physically strong, and I worked hard to do my best in my field, keeping in mind that each person is born with different aptitudes and possibilities. I have become bold in proving and showing my abilities, and I have gained the confidence to show my skills with pride. I applied to your company because I felt that we share the same values, as you are a leader in your industry and generously share your charisma and virtues as a winner at the forefront of the industry.
If I am given the opportunity to work at your company, I will spare no effort to show that my confidence is not just empty words, but a powerful force that will resonate throughout the company. I want to work even harder so that people will stop wondering, “What makes him so confident?” and instead think, “He has something to be confident about, so he can express himself freely.” Just as the top people in the industry have their own pride, I will strive to maintain a consistent image so that my personality matches my abilities.
