“A piano major who first encountered musical instruments”
I first encountered the piano when I was seven years old. My first piano was an electronic piano. I practiced every day on an electronic piano made by Shimro Musical Instruments. Then, when I became an elementary school student, I was told that I had talent, so I began to study piano seriously. I attended a music academy and took private lessons, and my piano skills improved. I didn’t learn because I was forced to, but because I really enjoyed playing the piano. So even after I came home from the academy, I would play the piano and practice all the time.
In junior high and high school, I participated in piano competitions and won awards. As my skills were recognized, I joined a local ensemble and studied music in collaboration with other musicians. I met friends of the same age, sometimes competing with them and sometimes playing together, and built up my skills. As a result, I went on to study piano at a music college, while also majoring in business administration, determined to become a manager in the music industry.
However, as I studied, I found that while piano was fun, I enjoyed studying management even more. So, I decided that I wanted to join a general company and try to combine music and management in my work. Although those around me tried to dissuade me, as I had been able to find my path with just a piano major, I was convinced that there was a connection between music and management. As a result, I decided to work at a musical instrument company, and more specifically, I wanted to work in the sales department.

I believe that living positively is the most important thing in life. People who live positively are able to see their own potential more clearly. Instead of thinking negatively, such as “I can’t do this,” I think, “I can do this. I want to try.” That’s why I always try to think positively and evaluate myself positively.
When I was young, I experienced frustration while playing the piano. There were times when I didn’t want to play the piano anymore and thought that classical music was boring. What helped me overcome this slump was positive thinking. When I thought about it carefully, I realized that I had fallen into a slump because I thought that even if I practiced harder, I wouldn’t improve, and that I wasn’t as good as my friends who were better than me. So I encouraged myself that the more I tried, the more I would discover my hidden potential. I also came to believe that limits are only real if you set them for yourself, and that I had no limits.
With that mindset, a new life unfolded before me. I was able to play songs that I had always struggled with, and music that I didn’t want to listen to began to sound good to me. So, I didn’t just play the music I was given, but eventually I started composing and writing lyrics myself. My piano skills improved dramatically, especially when I was composing. Composing requires not only a basic knowledge of scales but also a good understanding of harmony and chords, which led me to study these subjects in greater depth. After studying in this way, I came to think that playing the piano is not just a matter of pressing keys, but is like a science.

I like traveling. I often take short trips abroad on weekends, and when I have a lot of free time during school breaks, I travel to distant countries. Sometimes I go on package tours, and other times I form a group with several people and go on themed trips, such as wine tours or ski trips. When I started traveling, I would mark the countries I visited on a map and write about my travels on a blog.
As a result, I ended up traveling to 17 cities in eight countries, and my posts earned me the title of power blogger on Naver Blog. At first, I didn’t think much of blogging, but as I gained more followers and people became interested in my posts, I began to feel a sense of responsibility. Among my travel stories, I also wrote about my experiences volunteering abroad. I can play the piano, violin, and cello, so when I visited Italy and Turkey, I performed on the streets.
At first, I did it just for fun, but later, when I saw a street concert, I wanted to participate. The concert raised money for charity, and I happened to participate in international volunteer work. Since I was traveling, I participated in practice for only one day and played the violin and cello for two days. When I realized that the hard practice I had put into learning these instruments was shining here and helping someone, I felt extremely happy and fulfilled.

After graduating from college, I worked at a music culture center. As a contract employee, I was in charge of music-related tasks at the cultural center. My work mainly consisted of writing English letters, translating English documents, and creating pamphlets related to music.
