“Education through conversation”
I was a playful and lively child, and I was always running around and making a mess. I often got into trouble, and my mother and father would take turns coming to pick me up from kindergarten. When they scolded me, they always tried to solve the problem through conversation.
As a result, I grew up having many conversations with my parents. No matter what I did wrong, they never got angry or scolded me. They always asked me first why what I did was wrong and why my friends were crying because of my actions. They gave me time to think about my mistakes and waited until I admitted them.
Growing up with this kind of education, I learned to reflect on my actions and think for myself. When I did something wrong, I tried to find out what I did wrong and correct it right away, rather than avoiding it. As I grew up, I always thought about what was necessary and unnecessary to do something well. I often heard that I was healthy and well-adjusted because I thought of others first when dealing with people.
School days
“Exchange and growth through club activities”
Since high school, I wanted to have various experiences, so I participated in many club activities. The cultural heritage research club, which was a joint club of eight high schools, was a club that worked to preserve cultural heritage in Korea. I was able to meet friends from other schools and expand my circle of friends, and through activities to preserve our cultural heritage, I developed an interest in history and a broad perspective that took into consideration society and the environment.
Joining the animation club made my school days even more fulfilling. I have been familiar with visual media since I was young, and I especially liked animation, so my childhood dream was to become an animation director. During my three years of high school, I worked on joint projects with club members and prepared for contests open to high school students, which gave me many fond memories.
Considering my interests and aptitude, I chose to major in animation in college. I had many conversations with friends who were talented at drawing and had brilliant ideas, and I thought a lot about my career path. While taking classes in my major, I realized that I enjoyed talking and communicating with people more than sitting in one place for hours and concentrating on my work.
When working on assignments with my friends, I was good at coming up with ideas for the direction of our work, and I understood each of my friends’ personalities and drawing styles well. So, when we did group assignments, I always took on the role of team leader and led the entire project. I was better than anyone else at sharing the ideas that constantly came up during the planning stage, dividing the work according to each team member’s strengths, and coordinating the results. I prepared for contests in my spare time and won several awards. I first tried preparing for a contest in high school, but I didn’t win. While in college, I prepared for contests with my friends and won several awards.
Strengths and weaknesses
“I am active and like people.”
I like people and am quite sociable. Many of my friends who draw are introverted, but I was a bit of an oddball in our department. I was a decent artist, but people said I was definitely not the artistic type. I got along well with even the quieter students, so they nicknamed me “social butterfly.”
I am active and quick to act. When I am given a project or assignment, I am not the type to keep revising it until the deadline in order to make it more perfect. Instead, I set a goal, focus on it, produce the result, and move on without dwelling on it. When I am working on a project, I am able to concentrate intensely.
I am considerate of others and good at noticing their characteristics. Since my school days, I have been involved in club activities, where I met many people and formed various relationships, so I am used to being considerate of others. I always enjoy meeting new people and going to gatherings where I can make friends with different people. Meeting different people is always an enjoyable experience because I can hear about experiences I have never had and gain different perspectives on the same topics. When talking with people, I am good at recognizing their characteristics and personalities, which often surprises them. I think this is a useful skill in interpersonal relationships.
Strengths
“Endless ideas and presentation skills”
Being described as creative or ingenious is perhaps the greatest compliment an artist can receive. The best way to become the best is to express those creative and ingenious ideas in your work. My friends often said that I had many ideas that were so outlandish that they were ridiculous. Many of those ideas were too strange to be expressed in my work, but I enjoyed coming up with them and talking about them with others.
I don’t get nervous when standing in front of people, and I enjoy seeing their reactions. I have always enjoyed attracting people’s attention and making them empathize with me by making eye contact and telling stories.
When presenting project assignments in my major classes, I was always in charge of giving the presentation. I explained the intention and expression techniques of my work and the process of creating it in a coherent manner, and I was able to respond logically to questions and criticism from my professor and classmates.
I believe that these strengths are essential for the product planning department at XX Company.

As someone who has experience in drawing and design, I believe that analyzing current market trends based on my rich understanding of content and planning products that meet those trends is the best fit for me.
