Growth

When I was a child, school supplies and fancy goods were nothing more than items sold at the local stationery store, but I still vividly remember the first fancy goods store I visited with my cousin, which was like a colorful treasure trove. When I went to the downtown area to meet my cousin and she said she wanted to stop by to buy some writing instruments, I only thought of the small, ordinary stationery stores run by my neighbors, but the store she took me to was filled with colorful items. I asked her again if they really sold school supplies like writing instruments here, because the world that unfolded before my eyes was so unbelievable. Most of the customers were girls, and even though I was a complete stranger there, there was something about that place that made it difficult for me to leave.
I was in culture shock for a while, seeing new fancy goods, dolls, and character goods that were hard to find in my neighborhood. I held my sister, who was planning to just buy some writing instruments, and engraved every detail of the scene in my mind. As is typical of boys my age, I couldn’t easily talk to my friends about the colorful fancy goods, but for a while after that, I would visit the stationery store in my neighborhood and remember the grandeur of the fancy goods store in the city center, feeling a stark difference. Then, when I overheard the girls in my class talking about how they liked those kinds of products and went shopping for them whenever they went downtown, I was shocked.

School life

It was a hobby that I couldn’t show my peers, but I was interested in cute dolls and fancy goods that girls my age usually liked, and I often collected them secretly whenever I went downtown. I knew that if my younger siblings or friends found out, they would tease me, but I had an urge to collect them secretly. In fact, the social prejudice that made it difficult to openly buy such products may have fueled my secret thrill and served as a stepping stone to an even more secret hobby. I was so attached to the items I had secretly purchased that I would put them in a cardboard box hidden deep in my drawer and enjoy looking at them from time to time.
However, as the saying goes, “the longer the tail, the easier it is to step on,” and I still remember with embarrassment the time when I was enjoying shopping alone as usual and ran into some girls from my class. I hid the basket I was holding behind my back and made up an excuse that I was buying something for my cousin, but one of the girls had seen me several times before, so my excuse didn’t work, and I felt rather embarrassed. However, on the other hand, I felt a sense of liberation from not having to keep my secret to myself. It was very difficult to live with a secret that I couldn’t tell anyone, suppressing the tingling feeling in my throat. And it was enjoyable in its own way to be able to gradually talk with girls who I had found difficult to talk to before, and share topics of interest.

Strengths and weaknesses

I am a person who responds with boundless energy to things that interest me. When I become interested in something, I often become passionate about it, and I have a habit of digging deep until I achieve a certain level of results. When I was obsessed with collecting fancy goods, I ended up filling my drawers with my collection, which was eventually discovered by my family. I also impressed my family with my buffalo-like temperament, always charging forward toward my favorite foods and clothing styles. Once I set a course, I had a tendency to fire indiscriminately and expend endless energy. By controlling this latent energy, I was able to achieve some success in my desired field of work.
However, some people told me that it is important to have the ability to respond to various situations with discernment, rather than indiscriminately pursuing a single goal. They said that if I was so fixated on something that it disrupted my daily balance, it could cause problems someday. Therefore, I was careful to be mindful of my tendency to blur the line between work and personal life, and I made sure to exercise proper control.

Values

I want to live a life that is not bound by stereotypes about gender roles or preferences. Since I was a child, I was often interested in cute and fancy items that girls tend to like, but that didn’t mean that I identified as a girl. I was just a normal boy whose tastes differed from those of my peers in one area. However, I always had to be evasive because I thought my friends would tease me if they found out about my different tastes. I had to make desperate efforts to hide it not only from my friends, but also from my family and everyone else around me.
I think it is good to consider each person’s tastes and preferences, but I don’t think it is right to establish overly generalized rules and label people who don’t follow them as abnormal. This can prevent people from being true to themselves.

Motivation for applying and aspirations after joining the company

Growing up in a relatively quiet neighborhood without access to cultural amenities, I was under the impression that school supplies and simple fancy goods could only be purchased at small stationery stores. However, when I followed my cousin to the city and encountered a fancy goods store for the first time, it was a revolutionary experience for me. The cute character goods and numerous school supplies, which were rare in my neighborhood, stimulated my delicate sensibilities and inspired me to secretly collect them as a hobby. As someone who has been deeply impressed by your company’s products since my school days, I have been passionate about working for your company from an early age, and I am applying for this opportunity.
If I am given the opportunity to work for your company, I will strive to provide the best possible service to as many customers as possible, while never forgetting the revolutionary impact I felt when I first encountered your store. The neighborhood where I lived has become densely populated with infrastructure and shops, and it is no longer as quiet as it used to be, but I still vividly remember the feeling of being led by my cousin’s hand into a fantasy world when I was a child who knew nothing about the world.
