In this blog post, we will look at how applicants with a positive mindset can convincingly reveal their personality and experience in a self-introduction letter for a general affairs position.
Growth
My parents believe that studying is important, but finding what you want to do in life is even more important. Thanks to their educational philosophy, I was not stressed about studying when I was young, and they allowed me to learn things I wanted to do, such as Go, piano, and swimming. As a result, I became curious, outgoing, and challenging.
Perhaps because of this challenging spirit, I joined the school theater club “○○○○” when I entered high school. Although I was unable to participate in theater competitions due to my busy school schedule, I think it was a great experience to learn about teamwork by gathering with my seniors and juniors every day after school to rehearse plays. I believe this will help me quickly become familiar with my colleagues and adapt to my work after joining the company.
After graduating from high school, I studied for a year to get into the university of my choice. During this period, I worked part-time while studying, which gave me some indirect experience of working life and allowed me to think seriously about my future career.
Strengths and weaknesses
The strength of my personality is that I have a positive mindset. That’s why I hate saying something is impossible without trying it first. Once, during my second year of college, I saw a job posting for summer camp counselors at a youth training center in XX City, and I told my friends that I was going to apply. Most of my friends had negative reactions, asking me how I could go to a strange place by myself. However, I applied and was able to expand my social circle by making friends with people I met in a new place. I am still in touch with the friends I made at the training center.
My weakness is that I tend to focus too much on one thing. When I do something, I tend to concentrate on it until I finish it, and I sometimes neglect other things. However, I think I can turn this weakness into a strength by making plans and doing important things in order of priority.
College life
Right after entering university, I joined a Catholic club. Most people think that Catholic clubs are stiff and boring, but that is not the case. My club belongs to a Catholic association in the ○○ region, so I am able to meet students from other universities in the region and participate in meaningful volunteer activities such as the Night of Life event.
I had a special experience during my second year in the club. The club members I saw every day were fine, but new members were awkward for the first few days, and the club members were bored with doing the same activities every time. So, I thought about creating a secret friend system, and came up with a concrete plan. Manito means “secret friend” in Atalier, so we drew lots to assign each club member a name, prayed for the friend we drew, and promised to help them without letting them know until the Manito announcements. If someone was found out, they had to pay a fine. We decided to give the fines collected to the friend who did the best Manito activity and to give a gift of encouragement to the friend who did the worst.
At first, the club members were reluctant, but I kept persuading them that it would have a positive effect, and we continued with the program. Through the Manito activity, the attendance rate of new members increased by more than 30%, and the attendance rate of existing members also increased by more than 20%. In addition, the Manito activity increased the members’ attachment to the club and strengthened their bonds.
Motivation for applying and aspirations
While studying administration, I wanted to work in a position that would allow me to improve organizational efficiency. I realized that the knowledge I had acquired was related to general affairs work. I believe that all departments in a company are important, but general affairs work is essential to ensure the smooth operation of the company and its continued growth. Therefore, I would like to join ○○○○○ and become a valuable member of the company.
If I am hired by ○○○○○, I will always practice the following three things. First, I will always strive for self-improvement. I believe that not making an effort is not the same as doing nothing, but rather falling behind. Therefore, if I am hired by ○○○○○, I will always strive for self-improvement so that I can become an indispensable member of the company. Second, I will always work with a positive attitude. A company is not an individual, but a community. I will strive to be someone who makes everyone at the company feel good. Third, I will always smile when dealing with customers. I believe that a company cannot exist without customers. Although I don’t think I will have many opportunities to meet customers in the field I applied for, I will always smile when dealing with customers who visit the company and employees of business partners.
