Self-introduction letter components: values and goals

In this blog post, we will introduce various sample sentences that can be used for the values and goals sections of your self-introduction letter.

I will do my part to support the changing times

I want to play my part in supporting the trend of countries around the world becoming more closely connected. Even if we do not visit each other’s countries or experience them firsthand, we can still feel the atmosphere of foreign countries and engage in close cultural exchange because I am well aware that there are people acting as bridges between us.
When I was a child, I wondered where globalization was happening, as I couldn’t see it with my own eyes. It was my great-uncle who encouraged me to take an interest in my current field of work. Even people who have never left South Korea can use foreign technology and products manufactured in foreign countries, and can easily meet foreigners when they visit downtown areas and tourist attractions. The psychological distance between countries is gradually narrowing, and the utilization and scope of trade is bound to expand accordingly.

Let’s become people who look far ahead

This refers to both physical and temporal distance. When I was a child, I lived near an airport and could only watch other people board planes, but my eyes were always on the world outside my country, and I strongly hoped that one day I would be able to take myself beyond the world I could see. During my school days, some of my friends laughed at my interest and said that traveling around the world was not easy, but before I knew it, I had traveled to more than 10 countries. This was because, even as a child, I had a passion for pursuing my goals with perseverance, looking far ahead without giving up, regardless of my circumstances.
Some people told me that I needed to prepare for the future by saving steadily, but I did not overlook my future. If some people prepare for the future by saving money, I believe that I can prepare for my future through steady investment and the experience I have gained as a result. Currently, I have become a talented individual with international sensibilities that are second to none, and I have gained the confidence to apply for a job related to airport construction, which has been my dream for a long time, without hesitation. If I had prepared for the future by saving money like everyone else, I would not have been able to acquire these qualities. Nor would I have been able to use them as weapons to steadily explore my career path. Since I was a child, I have always looked at the world and the future in my own way, and I am still working hard to achieve the future I have been striving for.

Live a life that you can be proud of

When I look back on my youth after I turn 60, how will I evaluate my life? Will I be proud of myself and have no regrets about the past? I often think about this. When I think about whether I will be satisfied with my life in the long run, rather than just fulfilling my immediate desires, I realize that the most important thing is myself. That is why I am committed to my current goals and try to live my youth with passion so that I will have no regrets.
When I was in college, I was really into baseball. I wasn’t particularly fond of sports, but I happened to visit a baseball stadium and was captivated by the players’ passion. Baseball is a sport where you can experience all kinds of emotions in a single game, and even though the games are long, I enjoyed cheering for the team with a sense of tension. I was so fascinated by baseball that I would go to the stadium almost every day when there was a game. Eventually, I was spending all my weekly allowance at the stadium. However, I wasn’t addicted to lottery tickets or gambling, so I considered it a positive hobby and devoted myself to it.
As a result, I met new people at the stadium and happened to become friends with a cheerleader, which led to a part-time job at the stadium. While working part-time, I helped with broadcasting at the stadium and became friends with the cheerleaders and players. This allowed me to have new experiences that I would never have had before, and I was able to experience things that I would never have experienced if I hadn’t been going to the stadium so often and showing my enthusiasm. As a result, I came to believe that it is important to live hard so that I won’t have any regrets later in life.

A life of fulfillment through setting and achieving countless goals

I want to live a life where I set countless goals, achieve them, and feel a sense of fulfillment. Just as a hunter feels immense pleasure when he successfully hunts his prey, I also feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment when I see the end of a task that I have been working on for most of my daily life, and this gives me the motivation to move on to the next goal. Even after we achieve our immediate goals, we still have countless steps to take in our long lives, but just as we feel our perspective change with each step we take up a staircase, I believe it is important to fully enjoy and recognize the sense of accomplishment we feel when we reach a new level. Only then can we throw ourselves into the next challenge with determination.
Just as people who know the sense of accomplishment, the fresh air, and the joy of the open world when they reach the summit of a mountain can endure the hardships of climbing, once we achieve a goal, we must be able to fully appreciate the benefits of that achievement in our minds and hearts. Only then can we endure the daily journey of starting from the bottom and gradually working our way toward the climax of our work.

Becoming a person who is indispensable to those around you

Since I was a child, I have found great satisfaction in being a person who is needed by those around me. If someone needed my help, I was always willing to lend a hand. That is why, when I was in high school, I volunteered to help my classmates with disabilities. My school had a separate class for students with disabilities, and I participated in that class part-time as a helper. Specifically, I helped them take notes during class and assisted them with physical education activities. I also helped serve lunch and clean up after meals, and if necessary, I helped them go down the stairs when they left school. Through these activities, I communicated with my friends with disabilities and realized that they were just like me.
I tried hard to be a person who was needed by those around me, and I felt very rewarded when others showed their gratitude for my help and support. This made me want to help others even more, so I participated in many volunteer activities in my community. In college, I participated in various volunteer activities, such as rural volunteer work, orphanage volunteer work, mural painting, and medical volunteer work. I also continued the volunteer work for people with disabilities that I had been doing since high school. In college, I also had experience in educational volunteer work, taking care of younger children and participating in classes at a school for children with disabilities. These volunteer activities are not related to the tax and accounting work you do at your company. However, nowadays, even general companies are carrying out many social projects, so I would like to join your company and become an employee who participates in many social projects.

A person who never misses unfamiliar and new opportunities

I want to be a person who never misses unfamiliar and new opportunities that come my way in life. We often get scared or overly cautious when faced with opportunities that could completely change our lives, and find it difficult to make decisions. This is because the fact that we have to take on new challenges in a world that is completely different from the order we have known up until now often holds us back and makes it difficult to take that first step. However, I believe that challenges in unfamiliar places enrich me and make me more energetic, giving me a fresh perspective on the world with a childlike curiosity.
Just as people who live their daily lives in a single culture and familiar surroundings inevitably become set in their ways, we must constantly change the mold we fit into, like changing the shape of a cookie cutter to make different shapes such as stars, moons, and animals, so that our lives, which are like fluid substances, do not become trapped in a single mold.

The attitude of accepting the majority opinion after careful consideration

I want to be a talented person who does not blindly accept the majority opinion, but rather considers it carefully and accepts it when appropriate. We often place importance on collectivism and teamwork, and tend to view any voice that differs even slightly from the majority as something negative. However, just as individuals who emphasize consistency to the point of rigidity and refuse to accept external stimuli are bound to collapse when faced with problems, groups that fail to establish diverse measures will find it difficult to demonstrate their ability to respond to crises with finesse.
In other words, unless we pay close attention not only to areas where many voices are heard, but also to areas and opinions that are relatively neglected, and bring together people with different tendencies to overcome their weaknesses and combine their strengths, the group we all belong to will inevitably decline.

Talented individuals who help others and achieve harmony with others

Even if it is only a small effort, I want to fulfill my role with pride, remembering and realizing that my existence has contributed to the world and helped others in the future. We are born into this world alone, but we must interact and meet countless people and improve our lives together with them. Sometimes, we receive help from others when life is difficult, and when someone else seems to be struggling, we reach out to help them.
This is an essential part of life, as humans cannot live alone and are dependent on the influence and help of others. Rather than thinking of these things as troublesome or difficult, I believe it is better to use them as opportunities to remind ourselves that we are valuable and wonderful beings who are capable of helping others.

I want to be a person who is not ashamed of myself

I want to live my life with memories that I am not ashamed of. If you want to have pride in yourself, you need to have memories of sticking to your own philosophy and living an upright life. If you have lived a “shameful” life, wavering and unable to make up your mind, it will be difficult to establish and maintain a firm belief in yourself. No matter how much you love yourself, it is far from having respect for your own achievements. Only when you have firm confidence in your past actions can you face the future with faith.
When I look back on my life in the future, I want to be able to say that I have always given my all and lived a life of dedication, without shame or regret. Only then will I be able to feel satisfied with my life when I leave this world.

I will be a person who achieves victory no matter how difficult the circumstances

I want to be a person who never gives up, no matter how difficult life gets, and ultimately achieves victory. Human life is like a graph full of ups and downs, with rises and falls, and after every rise there is a fall, and after every fall there is a rise. If you don’t try to overcome the natural order of things and just whine that “I don’t want to do hard work,” you are likely to remain stuck at the bottom and never climb back up the curve of life. It’s like not even trying to climb a mountain because you’re afraid you’ll fall if you do.
Therefore, I believe that only when we recognize this natural flow of life and develop the ability to accept any event as part of our lives and enjoy it or deal with it properly can we become the masters of our own lives. This is because it is difficult to lead a fulfilling life if we do not know how to take control of our destiny and just drift along, being carried here and there.
