My background
“My father wrote articles about the packaging industry”
When I was young, I was a thoughtful and emotional boy. In junior high school, I wrote novels and essays, and even published a collection of my works. It wasn’t a professional publication, but I collected my works with those of my friends who also wrote, and we published a book together. The school’s literature club supported us in the process of publishing the book, and after publishing several collections, I developed my own style of writing. Writing as a hobby satisfied my desire for personal creativity, developed my sensitivity and creativity, and gave me a love for writing.
I think I inherited my love of writing from my father. My father was a magazine reporter and often traveled around the country as a freelance reporter. Watching him work, I saw him visit factories and industrial sites to gather information and interview people when necessary. My father was a kind and warm person, and he always explained his work to me in detail. Through watching him, I became familiar with the genres and content of his writing.
My father worked for a magazine called Monthly Packaging, where he wrote articles about various packaging materials and containers. I didn’t have much interest or knowledge about the packaging industry, but I learned a lot from my father’s articles. Later, I naturally became interested in the field, and when I looked around, I realized that there were no products that were not packaged. So, when it came time for me to find a job, I decided to try the packaging industry.
Life philosophy
“Always be interested in your surroundings.”
My motto in life is to be interested in my surroundings. The reason why I should be interested in my surroundings is because receiving love and attention often leads to positive results. Even a small flower will grow well if it receives love and attention. Once, when I was raising a pet hamster, I called its name and petted it every day, and after a while, it seemed to understand when I called it. When I called it, it would come running and cuddle up to me, and it would only eat the food I gave it.
If animals grow through love and attention, how much more do humans need attention? Even I want attention and love from my parents and friends, so I always try to treat others with love in my relationships. For example, even with friends I am close to, I never treat them casually, but always compliment them on their changing appearances and show interest in them. I ask them about what they are wearing today, how their makeup looks, and how their life is going, and I try to remember these things. I believe that treating others with care and attention allows me to form truly close relationships, and I consider this to be one of my communication skills.

“An employee with knowledge of packaging development”
My name is ○○○, and I am applying for a position in the R&D Packaging Development Division at CJ CheilJedang. I am confident that I am well prepared for the job and will be able to quickly adapt to packaging development work. My confidence is not unfounded. As a student majoring in packaging, I have knowledge of packaging materials such as glass, metal, plastic, paper, and new materials. In particular, I have experience applying new ideas to tasks and developing actual packaging materials in the field of food packaging. I have included a portfolio based on this experience with my application documents, which will allow me to showcase my work capabilities.
Among the various works in my portfolio, I am most confident in my development of paper packaging materials. This was my graduation project at university, and I developed a product for dog owners. When you have a dog, you have to be very careful about feeding it, and it is particularly inconvenient to carry food around when you are away from home. People usually just put it in a container such as a Tupperware box, but I designed a more environmentally friendly disposable paper packaging material. The advantage of this material is that it is environmentally friendly, decomposes quickly, and is easy to separate for recycling. With my experience in developing excellent packaging materials, I will be able to quickly adapt to coming up with new ideas at your company.
In terms of job performance, I would say that I am fluent in English. I am better at reading comprehension, vocabulary, and translation than speaking. I started studying English seriously when I was studying packaging, advertising, and marketing. It is more helpful to study these fields through foreign books than books published in Korea, and foreign books introduce a variety of innovative products. In addition to these books, I also subscribe to magazines that cover packaging basics, and I read general articles. Through this practice, my English skills have improved naturally. I can write reports in English related to packaging and communicate with clients via email.
Internal and external activities
“Performing inbound work at a call center.”
Before applying to your company as a new employee, I didn’t have much social experience, but I did have some part-time work experience. I mainly worked at a call center, performing inbound tasks. I chose to work at a call center because people often told me that I had a nice voice. I am also a good listener and tend to respond calmly and offer advice, so applying for a call center job came naturally to me.
I am a friendly person and don’t get angry easily, so I quickly adapted to the work. When taking orders over the phone, I communicated with customers with very different personalities. The company I worked for was a customer service center for a department store that mainly sold clothing, so I received many calls from customers complaining about their purchases or asking about exchanges. Sometimes, customers would ask about product availability, and I even received complaints about employees they encountered while shopping. Therefore, it was important to handle customers who were angry from the start, and it was important to be knowledgeable about the products in case they had any questions.
The most important thing for me in my work was to respond calmly. No matter what kind of inquiry I received, if the person who answered the phone was flustered or unable to explain things well, I couldn’t feel satisfied with my work. So, I created an atmosphere where I could listen carefully to the customer and explain things clearly, and I worked quickly to find the information I needed to answer their questions. Even if the customer became angry, I tried to remain calm and respond calmly so that I could handle the situation smoothly.
