How should you emphasize trust and responsibility in your bank application letter?

In this blog post, we will introduce ways for applicants preparing for bank employment to effectively demonstrate trust and responsibility in their application letters.

Growth

“The great power of honesty”
When I was young, I found a wad of cash in front of my school. The black bag caught my eye, so I opened it and found a bunch of 500-won and 100-won bills. At first glance, it seemed like a lot of money. There was no one around, so I picked up the money and took it home. I locked the door and counted the money, and the sound of coins clinking was louder than thunder, and my heart was beating fast. The amount of money was over 70,000 won at the time. It was a large amount of money to find on the street, and because it was 70,000 won in coins, it felt even heavier and more significant. At first, I thought I had found a windfall, but when I put the money in my desk drawer, I no longer felt like I had found a windfall, but rather felt afraid. In my young mind, I felt as if someone was chasing me, and I thought that someone I knew would rush at me and demand the money at any moment. In the end, I spent the night feeling sick. My mother was a wise woman, and she kindly asked me why I was feeling so ill. I cried and told her what had happened, and she smiled, took my hand, and took me to the nearby police station to return the money. On the way out, she hugged me and told me that money is good, but it is also scary, and that when you touch something that is not yours, you will definitely pay for it. She told me that right now, I am only sick because of my guilty conscience, but when I grow up, I could face serious consequences. Her words stuck with me so deeply that I even remember the smell of tteokbokki when we went into the snack bar. That experience taught me that honesty is a great power, and that hiding something will come back to haunt you. As I grew up and encountered various people and experiences, I realized that even if I earned a little less, it was better to have peace of mind, and that money was not everything.
Hello. I am ○○○, a new employee who would like to apply for a position at Industrial Bank of Korea. It is a small anecdote, but I grew up learning the importance of money and honesty to the point where I cannot hide money, and although I did not suffer under my wise and loving parents, I grew up as a child with a bright personality and a positive mind. I am very proud that I was able to grow up hearing that I was well-behaved wherever I went, thanks to my parents, who always responded with warmth rather than scolding whenever something big happened in my life, and especially thanks to my parents, who taught me to be honest in a strict but loving manner. I am ○○○, an applicant who has lived honestly and intends to continue doing so. I look forward to working with you.

Important events in my life

“Growing up through my younger sibling’s struggles.”
My father is a teacher and my mother works at a small company, so I grew up without any financial difficulties. In addition, I had no choice but to grow up well under the loving care of my parents, so there were almost no major incidents in my family. However, there was one time when my family was turned upside down. My younger brother failed his college entrance exam and began to wander aimlessly, feeling pessimistic about his future. For the first time in my life, I disobeyed my parents, drank alcohol, and didn’t come home. I fell in with a bad crowd and took all the money my parents had set aside for me and spent it all. We fought every other day, and my parents had to go to the police station to pay the money. What I felt at that time was my parents’ sighs and their pitifulness. Until then, I had thought that since I was a college student and still young, I only had to be responsible for myself. However, when I saw my parents at that time, I realized that I had to take responsibility for my younger brother, not my parents. So I called my brother out and scolded him harshly, even getting into a fistfight with him. Whenever I had time, I took him out to show him the bright side of life instead of the dark side. As a result, my brother gradually stopped wandering around and eventually studied hard and got into a better university than before. Now he is studying abroad to learn a foreign language. At that time, I realized that I had become an adult and that I had to take responsibility for the big and small matters of my family. Thanks to that realization, I still want to take responsibility for my family and have developed a sense of responsibility for my work.

Motivation for applying and aspirations

“I want to work at Industrial Bank of Korea, a company that continues to innovate in line with the times.”
Many people say that Enterprise Bank’s advertisements make them smile. When you think of bank advertisements, you think of beautiful people smiling in beautiful places, but Enterprise Bank’s advertisements feature the friendly Mr. Song Hae, children, and middle-aged women showing their everyday lives. Enterprise Bank is a company that puts the convenience and needs of ordinary people first. As a company that continues to innovate in line with the needs of its customers, IBK has boldly changed its image to a more friendly one and become a bank that people need, at a time when all other banks are striving for luxury and sophistication. I am sure that everyone wants to work for a bank that continues to innovate like this.
If I am hired by your company, I promise to become a person who embodies the spirit of IBK. As a company that is always innovating, I will strive to be sensitive to change, and as a company that meets the needs of the general public, I will become someone who understands the market and economic trends and thinks about what people want. In addition, as an employee of Industrial Bank of Korea, a symbol of trust, I will be neat and sincere from head to toe, and I will practice smiling in the mirror so that I can give a more pleasant smile. I will also study diligently to quickly understand the work at Industrial Bank of Korea so that I can respond professionally to anyone who comes to us. Thank you very much.

“A life of self-reflection”
I have never missed a day of writing my diary since I was in the fifth grade of elementary school. If I don’t write my diary at night, I can’t sleep, and no matter how tired I am, I write my diary to review my day. I try to improve myself by reviewing what I did and didn’t do that day and what I need to do in the future. I also take time to think about what I need to work on and what I can do for others. I strive to live a life of self-reflection. That is why I am confident that I can grow. I will not rest on my laurels, but will strive to become a better employee of IBK by identifying my strengths and weaknesses. Thank you very much.
