How can you emphasize equality in your self-introduction letter for a law firm?

In this blog post, we will look at how you can convincingly incorporate the life philosophy of “equality” into your self-introduction letter for a law firm.

Growing up

When my parents raised my brother and me, their most important principle was to treat us equally, without discrimination. In an era where discrimination is rampant in society and disparities are inevitable from birth, my parents wanted us to grow up developing our abilities under a reasonable system, without conforming to unreasonable treatment or becoming frustrated. From the time we were young and couldn’t understand what they were saying, my parents would discipline my brother and me and then explain clearly why it was necessary, trying hard to make us understand. Despite the discouragement of those around them, who said that we were too young to understand, they gave us reasonable explanations of the cause and effect that led to their decisions whenever we did something that required physical punishment or discipline.
This was an effort on the part of our parents to keep themselves from acting thoughtlessly toward us because we were immature, and to ensure that our discipline was not based on personal grudges or prejudices rather than reasonable grounds. They knew that we were still young and naive, and that we would not be able to understand emotions or arguments that could not be explained clearly in words, so they took care to provide education that was acceptable to both us and themselves. Nevertheless, as children, we sometimes expressed our immature feelings, saying things like, “It’s unfair because I’m the oldest,” “It’s unfair because I’m the youngest,” or “I feel like I’m being treated differently.” However, as we grew older and were able to understand our parents’ words, we were amazed at the depth of their consideration.

School life

It was a time when I inherited the reasonable treatment and order that my parents always tried to teach us, and I tried to apply it harmoniously with my friends. Even when I did something wrong and was scolded, my parents always explained why I was being punished for breaking the rules, so that I would not feel that they were being unreasonable just because they were adults or my parents. Having been raised with such teachings, I could not act like a tyrant among my friends. Perhaps because I developed my language and logical skills through frequent discussions with my parents when I was young, I was better than other children at quickly reading and analyzing situations and organizing them into easy-to-understand frameworks.
Therefore, even when I was at a disadvantage or did something wrong, I could have resorted to dirty tricks such as blaming other children or using sophistry, but my parents’ discipline taught me how shameful that would be. I was always taught that if I had more knowledge and intellectual abilities than other children, it was my duty as someone with power to exercise virtue so that order would be applied equally to those who were less fortunate. Just as rice bends its head as it ripens, my parents’ education made me deeply realize that the more knowledge I acquire, the more humble I should be, and that I should take it upon myself to help others by using my abilities reasonably. This was the only way I could repay my parents for developing my excellent thinking skills.

Strengths and weaknesses

I always have the right values and make sure that I am not swayed by my subjective views or personal desires. When people become overly immersed in a situation, they can lose perspective and become unaware that their view is skewed. I pay close attention to avoid becoming overly immersed in my own philosophy and straying from the path, lest I end up drifting away from others. This belief stems from my awareness that human nature is not born upright and righteous. Just as children act according to their own nature and resist when things do not go their way, all people have the potential to unconsciously pursue their desires. Therefore, I am always alert to keep my center of gravity in check.
In response to my efforts, some people said that human desires are natural and should be accepted as part of life without excessive resistance. However, I am not satisfied with just personal fulfillment. I want to be a role model who can guide many people to live righteous lives and be of greater help to them. Therefore, I strive to be a person who is strict with myself and knows how to stand firm.

Outlook on life

I want to live a life that will change the world through the pursuit of a fair order and be passed on to the next generation. When I was a child, my parents were educators who taught many children, and they always paid close attention to ensure that my siblings and I did not develop a distorted view of the world. Their influence had a profound impact on me and my siblings as we grew up. They were not satisfied with simply developing our personal qualities and abilities, but focused on raising children who would carry on their beliefs and influence future generations.
I want to always strive to achieve my goals so that my accomplishments will lead to positive growth in society, remembering my parents’ love for us and their efforts to raise us to be upright members of society who can spread their beliefs, and their desire for this positive cycle to spread to the next generation.

Motivation and aspirations

My parents always advised me to pursue a value system that maintains a proper balance and to strive to bring about standards of equality that function through careful control and determination in a society where inequality is inevitable in its natural state. This principle is very much in line with your company’s philosophy of working hard to ensure that no one is disadvantaged or advantaged in the practice of law. Personally, I have always followed my parents’ teachings and sought a corporate culture where I can apply them to my work, which is why I was deeply attracted to your company’s philosophy and decided to apply.
If I am given the opportunity to join your company, I will not be discouraged by the many situations in which I will be called upon to use the power of law to achieve equality. I will always do my best and strive to give my all to the tasks I am assigned, however small they may be. Just as my parents’ principle of equality left a deep impression on me and has served as a guiding principle in my life, I want to strive to influence others and spread my desire for equality.
