In this blog post, we will introduce effective ways to incorporate your actual document creation, organization, and data management experience into your office job application letter.
Growth
“Extensive reading and excellent physical strength”
Since I was young, I have been proud of my extensive reading and excellent physical strength. I grew up as an only child with a father who was a junior high school physical education teacher and a mother who was a baker. My parents both worked, so I had a lot of time alone. That is why I loved reading books since I was a child and spent a lot of time imagining things while reading. I was not good at drawing, but I often surprised my parents by expressing what I imagined while reading in writing. Growing up as an imaginative and creative child, I always won awards in school writing contests. In particular, I participated in the writing category of a creative contest for the future society sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology and won an excellence award.
Like my father, who was a soccer player in his youth, I am very physically fit. I love sports, and when I played soccer or basketball, my friends would fight to be on my team. In elementary school and middle school, I always participated in the relay race, which was the highlight of the sports day. I led my class to victory, but even when I was behind, I always caught up with the other runners with my speed, becoming the star of the sports day.
I often followed my father, who was active in a soccer club with his old friends. When I was young, I played soccer with other children, but as I grew older, I also played with my father’s soccer team. In junior high school, my father wouldn’t let me play for even 10 minutes, but when I became a high school student and gained more physical strength, he welcomed me onto the team. I got along well with my peers, but playing soccer with adults allowed me to build friendships with a wide range of people.
School Life
“Be creative in activities outside of school”
Until high school, I was active in a reading discussion club. I loved reading, and I enjoyed sharing stories about books and authors with other book lovers. I love sports, reading, and writing, but my dream has always been to become a CEO. With the dream of becoming the top decision-maker of a company, I enrolled in a business administration program.
While attending school, I participated in academic clubs within my department, read economics books, and studied the daily changes in the global economy. I was serious when studying and reading books, but I always enjoyed playing soccer and basketball in my free time to refresh myself. Thanks to my active personality, I had good relationships with my friends, and in my third year, I was elected as the student representative for my department. These days, college students are interested in only two things: romance and employment. The student council has many important events to organize throughout the year, but except for festivals and sports competitions, we had to connect most of the events to employment in order to attract student participation.
In the fall, there were many job fairs held by various companies at the university, and students were very interested in them. I linked the department’s academic festival with the job fairs and invited seniors who had found jobs at large companies to talk with the younger students. Although it was an event organized by the department student council, it was so successful that many students from other departments also attended. As you can see, I thought about how to get many people involved in the work I was responsible for, and I had the ability to plan the same work differently with creative ideas.
Strengths and weaknesses
“A lively and straightforward man”
My best trait is my lively and straightforward personality. I can quickly laugh off minor arguments, and I have never had any serious conflicts with my friends. I am outgoing and enjoy outdoor sports, so when I had a disagreement with my friends, we would play basketball together and let off steam, so I never held any feelings against them.
I am the type of person who always follows through on my decisions. When I study, I concentrate fully, and when I play outside, I enjoy sports without any worries. In other words, I was a student who worked hard when I had to and played hard when I could. I was good at distinguishing between when to be playful and when to be serious, so some of my friends would come to me for advice.
Social experience
“Nothing is free, so work part-time when you need to!”
Whenever I needed or wanted something, I would ask my parents, and if they gave me permission, I would work part-time at the bakery my mother ran. Being able to work whenever I wanted was a privilege my mother gave me. However, when I was working, I had to follow the same rules and work hours as the other part-time workers.
In particular, when I was preparing for a three-month language study program in Canada, I had to negotiate with my mother for quite a long time. My parents agreed to cover my basic tuition, but I had to cover my living expenses while I was there by working part-time at the bakery, so I helped my mother at the bakery every day until I left for my study program. Of course, that wasn’t enough, so I still help out at the bakery as much as I can. The language study abroad program was just an excuse, and both my mother and I enjoy working together, so I try to help her as often as possible.
Motivation and aspirations
“I will become the ace of the management support team!”
My goal is to become a top executive. I worked hard to acquire the basic qualifications necessary to join a company as a member of the management team before graduating with a degree in business administration. Through my study abroad program in Canada, I gained a global mindset and became fluent in English. I have acquired MOS Master certification, which certifies proficiency in computer OA, a business management certification, and a TOEIC score of 890. These are just quantitative and arithmetic qualifications, but I believe that my social life, with the goal of becoming a top executive in the distant future, is a stepping stone toward that goal.
I read an interview with Chairman Heo, who said that his goal is to make healthy and delicious bread. What impressed me most was his emphasis on “on-site management” and “quality management.” I believe that Shani’s current success is the result of this management philosophy. As Chairman Heo said, “A top executive needs more than just a management mindset. They must also have a technical mindset, or an engineer’s sensibility.” I will strive to become an employee who understands the workplace well.
I believe that a good understanding of the production site will enable me to work proactively in the office, and I will make sure that I establish a solid presence within the company within one to two years of joining Shani. I will become an indispensable member of the management support team, both in my work and in my relationships with my colleagues.
