In this blog post, we will introduce ways to effectively incorporate personal strengths such as manual dexterity and sincerity into a production management self-introduction letter.
Growth
Since childhood, I was a child who was much better at working with my hands than using my brain. Unlike my brother, who showed talent for studying and was considered the promising child of the family, I was interested in my mother’s side job from an early age and enjoyed doing small tasks that required dexterity. My mother, who worked part-time with the neighborhood ladies, often urged me to go study like my brother, but I preferred the atmosphere of working diligently with others rather than struggling alone with my studies. My mother wanted me to study hard like my brother so that I could live a comfortable life without having to work hard in an office, but I knew early on that studying was not my forte, so I tried to do what I loved.
My father comforted me, saying that it was inevitable that we had different personalities and that some people were simply better suited to working on the factory floor. My father, who worked as a production worker, had high expectations for my brother, who stood out from the crowd, but he also had a special affection for me, who shared his qualities. Thanks to my father’s wholehearted support for each of our aptitudes, I grew up naturally thinking that my brother would pursue a career in office work and I would pursue a career in manufacturing. However, my father emphasized that graduating from college would give me a much better start in my career, and he always told me that even if I wasn’t as good as my brother, I should never neglect my studies. Even when I was sitting at my desk, I often found it difficult to concentrate, as I was used to helping my mother with her work, where I could clear my mind and just move my hands mechanically. However, with my brother’s help, I tried to fill my head with knowledge little by little.
School days
When other children had vague but grand dreams for the future, I imagined myself working at a place like my father’s workplace, where I could use my abilities, and I constantly drew pictures of factory-related jobs. Rather than studying abroad in a foreign country or becoming a scholar by studying hard and achieving great things, I felt a sense of pride in watching my father work passionately and my mother work calmly, and I wanted to be like them. When I realized that I could never catch up with my brother in his studies, I decided that I couldn’t make it my specialty, and I began to think about what field I should pursue in order to surpass him.
The reason I was proud of my manual dexterity was largely because my brother was so focused on his studies that he had no practical life skills or miscellaneous techniques. My brother seemed smarter and more impressive than anyone else when he solved difficult problems and explained them, but when I saw him struggle with simple repairs or crafts, I felt proud that I could help him and that I was better than him in those areas. My brother and I were never arrogant about each other’s abilities or tried to put each other down. We simply accepted that we were different, and when the other needed help with something in their area of expertise, we actively tried to help. We knew that the best way to show our natural abilities was to actively help others.
Personality
Rather than making complicated plans in my head, I am the type of person who executes things one by one and learns through experience. Perhaps because my mind is not capable of running complete simulations, I am able to complete tasks more thoroughly by performing them myself and understanding them through experience. Rather than blindly relying on calculations in my head, I am the type of person who takes action first and then calmly untangles the threads. This is an effort to integrate my mind and actions so that they remain more vividly in my memory. No matter how difficult the situation I face, I try to move forward little by little and assess the situation, which serves as a foundation for me to break down problems little by little without taking them too negatively. When my mind calculates things that my body cannot follow, I tend to start exaggerating the reality of my situation, which can paralyze me.
At first, I did this because I felt that my brain wasn’t powerful enough to think everything through, but it became a driving force that allowed me to learn through experience rather than just wasting time as a practical person. It also gave me the confidence to realize that things weren’t as difficult as I had thought.
Life motto
Value and respect your aptitudes. There are many people in the world who are wandering around without knowing what they like or what they are good at. Even if there are socially desirable occupations and fields, if you work at the forefront of them but do not feel satisfied or fulfilled, you will easily end up spending your life dissatisfied.
Sometimes people shy away from work that is best suited to them because the fields they like and are good at are not socially recognized or seem less valuable than other occupations. However, this is like throwing away a suit that fits you perfectly and forcing yourself into a ready-made suit that doesn’t fit. My parents wanted me to study hard and get a comfortable office job, just like my brother, but I was able to clearly express my aptitude and earn my father’s respect, which has allowed me to lead a very satisfying life so far.
Motivation for applying and aspirations after joining the company
Since childhood, I have been good with my hands and enjoyed physical work, so I have always preferred jobs that allow me to work directly on site. I value the atmosphere of actual production lines and prefer jobs where I can work harmoniously with others as a member of the team. While researching the many companies I wanted to apply to and reading the reviews and testimonials of people who had actually worked in production, I became most interested in your company. This was because the stories of so many people, who spoke of the respect for employees and the smooth atmosphere in the workplace, had a common thread running through them.
If I am given the opportunity to work at your company, I will strive to become a well-oiled cog in the machine, working in harmony with everyone else. In order to fulfill my role in a system that is already running smoothly, it will be important for me to learn the unspoken rules, gain practical knowledge, and think of “us” before myself so that I don’t slow down the flow of work.
