How can you emphasize your meticulous personality and sense of responsibility when applying for a position in human resources?

In this blog post, we will introduce ways to naturally and convincingly showcase your meticulousness and sense of responsibility, which are essential qualities for a career in human resources, in your cover letter.

Growth

“Learning how to work with people.”
When I was young, I was greedy and tried to do everything on my own. I wanted to be number one in my class and number one in sports. I worked hard to achieve my goals, and my study methods worked well until elementary school. However, everything changed when I entered junior high school. I started to struggle with some subjects, and there were many times when I had to work in a team to get my schoolwork done. I realized that studying alone was exhausting, but working together created synergy. I learned this while preparing for a cheerleading competition in my second year of junior high school. I was the class president at the time, and my class was hopeless. No one tried hard, and they were always tired and irritable. However, thanks to three friends who helped me get motivated, the class completely changed. We encouraged each other, and one by one, ideas started to come out, and before we knew it, we were staying up late to practice dancing. As a result, we came in first place in our school and second place in our city. That experience, and the tears I shed at that time, made me realize that there are so many things we can achieve when we help each other. It made me realize that we can do anything better when we work together, and that we can grow as individuals while creating happy and fun memories.

School days

“A passionate youth who loved challenges”
After entering university, I loved challenges, so I tried things I had never done before and things I had never done because I was a woman. I started with paragliding, then tried physically demanding activities such as skydiving and scuba diving, and even learned to dance for the first time in my life. As a business administration major, I participated in many contests, and through my successes and failures, I learned how to plan. I didn’t know how to write a proposal, but I jumped in anyway, so I had many people around me to help me. My teachers helped me when I was immature, my seniors encouraged me and gave me advice, and my friends believed in me even though I wasn’t very good at anything and followed me. I think what I gained from trying various things was, above all, people. From my usual friends to those I met through extreme challenges, I think I was able to gain a sense of people by meeting and getting to know various people. I learned that people are diverse, that it is impossible to understand the extent of their diversity or establish standards, and that everyone is valid. It was a precious time in which I made friends and learned about the world through various challenges.

Your biggest failure or success

“Success learned through a failed festival”
I did a lot of volunteer work, and one of those experiences was planning an event for Hangul Day. It was a volunteer project organized by the Hangul Culture Association, and we wanted to make it fun, so we set up a booth, organized events, and created a Facebook page to share the joy of Hangul Day with others and raise awareness of the importance of Hangul. However, it was a complete failure. First, the friend in charge of marketing suddenly canceled all offline schedules, and things started to go wrong. Without proper publicity, there were no visitors, and the festival began to become increasingly quiet. On top of that, the operations team leader in charge of communication with the association did not do his job well, and we had to move to a different location. This led to a dispute between the operations team leader and my friend in charge of administration, and not only was the planning in disarray, but it became difficult to even hold the festival. The association had invested money, and when things didn’t go well, they started to ask who was responsible. The festival that day was a complete failure. However, I took full responsibility for the failure, and while I was criticized and resented by many people, I learned that when assigning work to others, it is important to choose the right person for the job who is fully capable of doing it and taking responsibility. I think I learned from my painful mistake that I will never make the same mistake again.

Strengths and weaknesses

“I am a person who checks and double-checks.”
The strengths of my personality are my habit of taking notes and double-checking. Since I went on a trip at the end of my first year, I have had a habit of taking notes and double-checking because I tend to forget things and had a shocking experience of losing my passport in another country. Since then, I have developed a meticulous personality. When I work, I always take notes and stick them on Post-it notes so that I don’t forget them. I also try to write things down rather than relying on my memory so that I can leave more accurate information. I try to do my assignments as accurately as possible, and I exercise and participate in many extracurricular activities, so I am very good at managing my schedule. I am the epitome of a meticulous person who checks and double-checks everything. That is why I was able to participate in various club activities without neglecting my studies or my friends.
My weakness is that people around me say that I am exhausting. Sometimes my friends tell me that I am too perfectionist and that it is exhausting to be around me. However, I believe that I must work hard when I am working, and I try to be more relaxed when I am not working.

Work experience (or experience that demonstrates your work skills)

“What I learned through tutoring and part-time jobs: ‘action'”
I think I learned personal character and about society through various volunteer activities. In particular, through tutoring, I was able to learn about children’s personalities while working with them. Children do not yet know how to hide their personalities, so their true colors show quickly. After deciding to apply for a position in the human resources department, I studied psychology, and I was surprised to see those traits in children, which taught me a lot. In addition, while volunteering with others, I learned about people who were faithful in their roles and those who were not. I think it’s all about action. It’s not how well you do something, but how much you do. We worked together to make pamphlets, prepare demonstrations, and collect small amounts of money from each other to buy snacks for the students, and through this experience, I was able to feel both my own sincerity and the sincerity of others. I think it was an experience that allowed me to get to know people and also helped me grow as a person.

Reasons for applying and aspirations

“I am confident that I can grow into a suitable employee who will contribute to Gangnam City Gas.”
Gangnam City Gas is a leading company in the modernization of city gas and the largest provider of city gas. It is no exaggeration to say that I graduated with the dream of joining your company’s human resources department. I don’t have much practical experience yet, but I am a young person who has learned a lot from each and every experience. I believe that I have the right values and a broad understanding. In addition, I strive to live transparently without deceiving others, so I am confident that I will be an employee who gets along well with others and can communicate openly with them. If you place your trust in me, I will work hard to become an employee who will contribute to the growth of your company. Thank you very much.
